Well since were doing movies, no disrespect to the ladies, but my personal favorite testosterone laden movie has to be

"TombStone"

"Are you going to do something or just stand there and bleed"

Has to be one of the best movie lines ever.

Wishing to be supportive of my other fellow poster's threads, what criterion do you require for it to be singled out as a "guy" movie?

I mean for me, a guy movie has not one single love scene ever. In no way is a woman ever once allowed to remove any of her clothing ever (actually a perfect guy movie doesn't even have females in it as far as I am concerned).

Going on this detail limitation (for myself only perhaps), I am saying a good nomination, might be 84 Charlie MoPic.
Its been a while since I last saw it though.

Maybe also Gungho (1943 Making Island raid) or Retreat Hell (Korea, Marines at Chosin think).

Remember I was picking on basis of no women allowed though.

For a Guy movie criteria is not about having no women in it, it is about having guy moments, you know those sceens that where men are men, sceens that only guys can relate to and women just do not get. Again no disrespect to the ladies out there.

Another good one now that I am thinking about it is
"Samari and Son"

Based on it just being a soldiers inside chuckle basis.

I nominate the fil adaptation of Bill Maudlin's Up Front.

I have the book (which is funnier thanks to inclusion of all those rediculously funny comics), but the film did a nice job as well.

Most of the jokes though, just won't be funny to non soldiers.

My opinion on a 'guy movie' differs somewhat. I believe a guy movie is one that most women would prefer not to see (usual disclaimers and exceptions, ladies). This involve at least several explosions, lots of action, and at least one member of the opposite sex w/o clothing.

One that comes to mind, sans the nudity, is The Outlaw Josie Wales. 'You gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?'. Classic. Another good action flick is Blade, to include the new Blade II . TNT has 'Movies for guys who like movies', and they always play my all time favorite, Die Hard .:)

My favorites for an all-guy movie marathon HAS to be Das Boot, followed up with Hunt for Red October. You won't have to come up for air all day long. (Just keep the pizza and beer coming!)

Hmm... All-guy movie, or all-guy war movie?

All-guy movie: Evil Dead III - Army of Darkness

One big macho movie. :D
Violence, twisted sick humor, and a hero that can take it all while eating breakfast! Ash makes Duke Nukem look like a school boy.

Hail to the king, baby!

Best Guy movie ever....

I think it was called Cyborg...

Not to sure, I am trying to block the image from my mind perhaps to much to recall it clearly.

Bunch of wrestlers turned actor in a bad plot scifi looking thing with knifes that actually snarled at each other.

The average girl would either choke to death on the smell of testosterone coming from the plot, or inspire her to rip off her clothes in a mad lust frenzy looking for the mega male that making the odour (ya can never tell how females will respond eh:D ).

Personally I found the film altogether to demeaning to men. It was over the top.

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. Definately a guy-movie. There are just two women in the whole movie. The other one is a dealer in a poker- game, and the other one is a stripper. The scene with the bren LMG is unforgettable, and so is the acting of Vinnie Jones, as the badass-gangster "Big Chris".

Eddy: "They're armed."
Soap: "Armed, armed with what?"
Eddie: "Err, bad breath, colorful language, feather duster... what do you think they're gonna be armed with? Guns, you tit!"

Oh, and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is pretty good, too. Not to mention Once Upon A Time In The West.

Sorry, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels doesn't meet the criteria.

My wife loves it just as much as I do!

Best guy movie...

Big Trouble in Little China comes to mind. Kurt Russel as a fast talking but otherwise useless hero flung into a plot with ancient chinese mythology, magic and lots of kung-fu stuff :D

Jack Burton (Russel) when asked at the end of the movie if he isn't going to kiss the female hero good-bye: 'No.'

Regards,

Lars

Great movies!! What about "Preditor" - Governor of Minnesota says "I don't have time to bleed" - other guy on team "Do you have time to duck"!

And I have to mention "Aliens" only because my wife saw it for the first time while she was pregnant - NOT A GOOD IDEA!!
