Now that we are about to enter the Great antasy Desert until Spring Training, how many would be interested in a Fantasy NASCAR league?

If at least 8 people show interest in the next couple weeks I will set it up when Yahoo starts their engines!

Oh yeah, now that's real racing for ya. Circuits going offline in N.A. and Europe, to be replaced by desert and Asian courses....What's the pre-race show for the Dubai F1 ? Camel racing ?
Look, I don't want to get into the great debate. but since you've expressed yours, here's mine...F1 is losing it's appeal to the masses. Only the wealthier nations can afford to satisfy Uncle Bernie's excesses, and frankly, the show isn't what it used to be back in the glory years. ( and yes, they were glorious) Nascar might be round and round, but the winner isn't decided ( oftentimes) till the very last feet of track. Been a long time since that's happened in F1.
Yeah, count me in for this Paul, thanks
Cheers

Oh I could not agree with you more about the decline of F1. But I just can't get excited about watching 30 some cars drive in circles... except for the spectacular crashes!

Paul, do you get points for crashes that are particularly awsome?

The Matrix Racing League has been created at

http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto

Create a team and then join the Matrix Racing League.

The league is number 7572 and password is matrix.

Check out the rules , particularly the 9 race limit on a given driver scoring points.

There is no "draft" and all drivers are available to all players each week - they are divided into A, B and C list and you must pick 8 drivers at the start of the season and race 4 per week with 9 races max per driver. You set your 8 driver roster before qualifying, and pick your 4 to "count" before the race. And once you use a given driver 9 times, that driver can no longer be used by you.

So this is about getting the most points from your team of 8 drivers, not riding a couple good drivers all season. The prize scoring will be based on each of the 3 segments and the final standings.

The winner of each segment will get 5 points, 2nd place 3 and third place 2 points. The Overall winner will receive a game download, as well as the person scoring the most season points (aside from the overall winner, if it is the same person, the next highest point scorer will receive the 2nd prize.

OOPS sorry Challerain's link is the correct one!

We have 4 I'd like at least 8 to make it a decent competition!

This is pretty easy - no draft to research, and with the way wrecks go down, probably the most chances to win "getting lucky"...

Has anyone actually picked their team yet? I'm a little confused.....

You need to select 4 starters and 4 bench drivers. Are you stuck with these 8 for the entire year? If you can switch out drivers weekly I'm trying to figure out why there is a bench....

Each week you pick your 8 drivers for the week until qualifying, then after qualifying up until race time you can choose the 4 you want to "score". You pick a new 8 drivers each week, but once a drivers is used for "score" 9 times you can't use him anymore. SO its about trying to get drivers you think will do well at particular tracks - some being more likely to get super speed way win, others short track winners, or restricter plate or road course specialists.

there is a bench because you can score qualifying points if you pick one in top 4. If he is on your bench you get points for the "Q" but does not count as one of your 9 starts unless he is  active "in the big square above"

Good luck guys

The Spring season is over and the League standings are as follows:

1 Toe Out 3,040 0 11 9 5
2 Hendrick's Heros 2,888 0 11 8 1
3 Team 11/10ths 2,810 0 11 9 2
4 Mickeys 2,791 0 11 8 1
5 Little Guitars 2,741 0 11 6 1
6 Down 'n takalefs 2,557 0 11 3 1
7 Soprano Crew 2,459 0 11 2 0
8 Sonny Crockett 2,419 (+1) 9 6 1
9 Team Dixie 2,352 (-1) 11 3 1
10 Chumpy's Chimps 2,030 0 11 3 0
11 Zeta16 0 0 0 0 0

So the Championship points are as follows:

Toe Out = 5
Hendrick's Heroes = 3
Team 11/10ths = 2
Mickey's = 1
Little Guitars = 1

So remember the overall season winner gets a game prize based on total points scored for all the seasons and the winner of the most championship points (other than the above winner) also wins a game prize. In the event of a tie for championship points the tiebreaker will be highest total for a given season.

The summer season is now over and the total points standings are as follows:

Toe Out 6546
Hendrick's Heroes 6385
Little Guitars 6345
Mickey's 6219

My team is nearly 500 points back of Mickey's and effectively out of the total points running with everyone else.

The Summer standings ended:

Little Guitars 3604 5 pts
Toe Out 3506 3 pts
Hendrick's Heroes 3497 2 pts
Mickey's 3428 1 pt
Chumpy's Chimps 1 pt

SO the total championship points are

Toe Out 8 pts
Little Guitars 6 pts
Hendricks Heroes 5 pts

Mickey's has 2 but with 5 being the most that can be awarded, he can only win total points.

So the "chase" will be between Toe Out, Little Guitars, Hendrick's Heroes and Mickey's. (note that is one team wins both total point and championship points, the player second in total points will be awarded the second prize.

Good Luck to our final four!

With 6 races to go, Mickey's is still in it! in first place for fall and only 60 points out of the 2nd prize position, currently held by Hendrik's Heroes

Toe Out seems to be resting on his lauels and has fallen to 6th place, out of the points!
Little Guitars has fallen to fifth and Hendrick's Heroes is fourth.
My Down'n takalef's is up to 3rd and have been playing leap frog back and froth with my daughter running Chumpy's chomps (who is not letting me live dwn her whoomping me for third in the Weekly baseball league...

With 6 races to go, a lot can still happen!
