This is probably working as designed, but this is really annoying me.

Why can't I prevent the bad guys from roaming all over the map by capturing strategic sectors like the road block, but the Dictator's forces can totally stop me by doing that to me?

Are you putting the Corp mercs in the Road block? I did that and never had much problems with the Locals moveing about. If the zones left empty they'll just walk right threw... although that 15k is really steep for a squad of guys. It does help protect places.

is it really true to assign mercs or put corp mercs on the roadblock helps in the situation? Roadblock is generating 3k income for me.. not a lot but hell it's still money. That roadblock to me is the most strategic area to move around early in the game.

Well the hired mercs cost you 15k but it's one shot. They'll kill everything that dosn't like you that trys to move threw. You can upgrade it 4 times giveing you a total of 20 mercs per zone. But in the early stage of the game 5 of them can handle anything they face. It's worked very very well for me and it's alot cheaper to spend 15k once then to have to keep a team of your own mercs camped out there for fear of Tangos storming over the place. If you wanna test it out and see make a save hire the mercs move your guys away then just up the game speed and wait. Believe me they work out very well.

By "corp mercs" do you mean the 15k defense units? Well, I can't verify that the dictator's forces have moved through sectors with those guys in, but I can verify that I've had the dictator's forces move through sectors where my IMA mercs were stationed.

Ya the 15k defense units. I've never seen the tangos stroll threw my own forces. They always attack me. May be a bug. Or they might not view you as hostile... That is very odd that they would do that.

Its hard to tell which maps are linked based on the campagne map. I would like to have the roads on the camp map in bright red. Some territories that are next to each other do not connect, although it looks like it does, while others you have to snake through other territories to get there.

I suspect the dictator gets to the rear lines through unblocked routes.

I would like to see an option to buy cheaper lesser armed defence units as well, for $5K rice paddy daddy's, 10K the AK crowd, and for 15K Euro mercs we presently have. And the AI attacking defended territories more often. Again this was likely a feature that was not included but was originally intended.

The cheaper defense forces are in the game based on the files. I think you get whoevers troops you work for. The 15k guys are corprate mercs and I belive are the best troops you can get outa the lot. There's also Butsi, Soldiers and Marauders. Depending on what path of the story you follow. I'm not sure how to get the others I think there's a forum post about that already though.
