Greetings and Merry Christmas, Gents.

I've encountered a slight problem trying to play the scenarios in the tutorial subfolder. I took three screen shots. If you have a problem accessing them let me know, please. They are posted on Photobucket as public, at least that is how I have the page set.

Opening the folder from the game reveals this:

Rather lonesome looking, isn't it?

Going into the tutorial folder itself shows this:

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/wrmurphy1/ScreenShot023.jpg

This is from the digital download, version 3, 2, 29, 27. Yes, it does show the version number with commas, if that means anything.

I don't know if this is the case with the CD, as I haven't received it yet.

As you can see I have all the files for these tutorials. The ASCII pop up comes from attempting open the game up from the subfolder itself as you can see from the tutorial file being highlighted. In my COW version I could do this, so this must be a change made I haven't read about in the instruction manual yet. When I went this route I got this file instead of the SCE. file:

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/wrmurphy1/ScreenShot025.jpg

As far as the games in the other subfolders go, I haven't had any problems with them. Everything works fine with the ones I have either played or looked at.

You might know something I can do on my end. Other than this minor problem I am impressed with everyone's efforts on behalf of this fine game.

Y'all did good.

[Edit] As an experiment I moved the Tannenberg files from the Tutorial folder to the Modern Misc. folder and discovered that all three there work normally, including showing up on the scenario list page except for one minor glitch. The bitmap image shows up in the upper left corner of the word document.

I went back to remove the Tannenberg files from the Modern- Misc. folder and made a new discovery. All of the Tutorial scenarios now show up in the previously blank tutorial window shown above. This is interesting as I cut only the Tannenberg files when I moved them. Now I have them showing up in two different places. Note the Tannenberg folder in the latest screen shot from the Tutorial.

Here are some more screen shots detailing this:

Modern- Misc. folder- http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/wrmurphy1/ScreenShot026.jpg

Tutorial Folder- http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/wrmurphy1/ScreenShot026-1.jpg

“Tannenberg folder”- http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/wrmurphy1/ScreenShot026-1.jpg

Revisions.

Tutorial folder after taking corrective action by removing the offending folder and moving the word document to where it is supposed to be:

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/wrmurphy1/ScreenShot029.jpg

Revised Modern- Misc folder showing the removed Tannenberg files:

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/wrmurphy1/ScreenShot030.jpg

Other than the bitmap image showing up in the Tannenberg word document as shown in the previous screen shot, the folders look the way I believe they are supposed to and more importantly, the games I checked work.

I don't think this can be duplicated, so I have this suggestion. The title of the thread be changed from “Tutorial files” to “Tutorial files missing” for the benefit of anyone else who might run across this. It may be a rare case of “it happens”.

[Edit:] The bitmap image above was removed by simply clicking image and deleting it. All corrected.
