running hcedemo again. giuk5.0. now i had saved at the start of the attack called 'attack' and that brought up another complaint. i'll talk about that later. started attack with swarm of sea eagles, with f16 following. at this point it was obvious soviet radars we're not up, as the first eagles sunk the first target. (found this kinda weird since they pass'd almost right underneath a helicopter). at this point i would normally be putting the f16 in afterburner, getting the hell out, but i wanted to see if the arm's would ever see anything. got grumble notification. still no arm attack available. second ship hit and sunk. more grumbles. still no arm attack available. more grumbles and a notification that the f16's should turn their radars on (huh? why?) and did. still no arm attack available and f16's are destroyed. at this point, i reloaded the save file 'attack', to try it again, not letting the f16 stick around. i meant to target 3 outer ships and screwed up, targeting only 2, (i'm leading up to another complaint). pretty much the same thing happened, except, after first ship hit, f16's check for arm attack available, no, launched amraams at helicopter, check for arm attack available, no, leave. i am not sure if there was any grumbles launched. i decided to try it again (to target 3 ships), only to find, that when i loaded the file 'attack', it was now in the middle of the attack. 'autosave' had saved over the file 'attack'. third time ended the same as second, but this time there were grumble warnings (all at the incoming missles, f16s were never engaged). but there was never an arm attack available. i'm curious as to why no arm attack wasn't available, grumbles need air defence radar, don't they? my biggest complaint is autosave saving over last file written to and now loaded from. i think autosave should write to its own autosave file.... i like autosave, can never rember to do it myself, i just want it to leave my other files alone.... did download 'attack' file. thanks dave
