The german motorised formations were changed so that trucks occurred in separate platoons to the infantry. This was done because of the difficulty in retreating trucks out of a combat zone at the same time as advancing the infantry, when both are within the same platoon.

I have just started a game with soviet motorised infantry. Their trucks are still incorporated in the infantry platoon. I haven't looked at other soviet motorised infantry (guards and SMG), or at other nations.

That the germans have their infantry and trucks separated gives them an inappropriate advantage, since a german player can not only easily withdraw his trucks from combat, but also
*move his infantry around the battlefield without costing them order points, giving them greater versatility in attack
* use his company truck platoons to shuttle non-motorised units around the map as if they were motorised, enabling him to redeploy units to face changing axis of attacks.

Historically, this is probably quite appropriate and accurate, as the germans were able to they were able to more quickly redeploy in response to changing situations...

In terms of the game I think it is an unbalancing factor...since what countered this on the allied side was great superiority in numbers...and the allied forces never reflect their historical superiority over the germans, not the advantage provided by airbourne superiority in the west.

I would therefore like to see all motorised forces with their trucks in separate platoons.

Any comments?

What version are you using? I have 7.1 and the German mot.inf have their trucks attached to the platoons...
