I have just installed the game on my new computer but I have now got the task bar along the bottonm and cannot see the whole screen. I have tried window mode but nothing changes. I did mot have this problem before. Am I missing something obvious?
Any ideas?

I believe you need to right click on the task bar ... select Properties ... uncheck the box that says "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows".

To use AWD in true windows mode check the sticky thread at the top of the main AWD forum titled "Great discovery - trick to increase resolution."

Happy gaming!

Chris I have to change the resolution to 1024*768 and then back to 1680*1050 to get the full screen, do you know any way to avoid this and get straight the right resolution when I start the game. I think Lebatrons max resolution was for 1280*1024 and 1680*1050 is not supported but in the way he describes in the txt file.
Thanks

Hey Rafael,

I use 1280 x 1024 and I have to use the same procedure; open AWD, change the resolution to 1024 x 768, then change it back to 1280 x 1024. I've never known of a way to go straight to a higher resolution, but the game looks awesome in full screen high-res; absolutely worth the extra key strokes.

That works.

I generally leave "the taskbar on top of other windows", but I minimize it while playing AWD. You can grab the top of the task bar and pull it to the edge of the screen to resize it. There is a little edge of the taskbar left at the edge of the screen, when done with AWD you can grab it and pull it back out to resize it back.

Just a question of whether you are a control freak or are happy to let Windows do it for you, really.

Actually Windows XP seems to be artificially intelligent enough to figure out the user's preferences for this ... if you uncheck the "taskbar on top of other windows" box several times when while using AWD and recheck it when you're doing other things, then eventually you can leave it checked but it will still hide the taskbar whenever you open AWD. A Microsoft feature that actually helps ... who knew?
