Was playing solitaire and just had a truck shot to pieces when the screen flickered and suddenly clicking on anything (of mine) became like right clicking on an enemy unit (bringing up the data) and I was unable to do anything at all. Then I noticed this little timer counting down on the bottom right of my game screen (main battle map) from 56:01 (maybe it started at an hour). Having safely saved at the end of my previous turn I took a bath intrigued to see what would happen after the count down reached zero. Nothing happened and I still couldn't do anything...

I ended the game and all the previous messages of action appeared on a blank screen. I rebooted, reloaded my save and all was fine...

anyone ever seen this? was it a multiplayer type thing (rather like the old 'waiting for players to sync' bug?)

Hello hellcat !

You didn't say what you where playing - (generated) campaign, scenario, MegaCampaign., which countries on both sides etc. ..

But it sounds like a bug, sadly. Must be a very rare one, though.
I guess it was not a truck from your core force but some reinforcement, AUX or something similar. Apparently the game screwed up upon the destruction of the vehicles and came to the conclusion, that it's another player's turn, instead of switching to your next vehicle.

Than, on the other hand, as everything was fine after re-loading the savegame, maybe it was only a little "disturbance" in Windows' memory management .. seen that before, too ;)

A.

Ahh, the old "waiting for all players to sync" problem! What version of W@W are you playing? I haven't seen this problem with 7.1...

Arralen, I just KNOW that you are not implying that Windows is anything less than absolutely perfect! Doing so would, of course, invite surprise attack from the MSSAF (Micro$oft Secret Airborne Force) - a group so elite that they make the 82d A/B look like Boy Scouts!

:)

As I teach in my Windows course: "If it's recreatable, it's a bug. Otherwise, it's Windows glitching...AGAIN." :)
