Will an Overloaded VR on a CVE still train pilots?

Not long ago I had a similar question. To take the unusually parsimonious post above a little further, VR squadrons represent U.S. Naval Reserve squadrons and serve to replenish regular squadrons on the big carriers. Hope this other thread helps:

Pilots could be trained to their national avg experience (say USN 60) using Commanding officers Leadership skill only. You dont need to fly any mission on this.

Thanks for the reply's ....... so meaning Barb you can put them on training at 0 and they will still get exp up to 60 .... commander leadership check only?

But if you are using them to replenshish carriers then there is no need to train them as the pilots do not transfer with the aircraft.  (As far as I know) And if you have a need to use them in combat then you are really losing big time........

crsutton ..... the idea I had is to use the planes for replenishment, and to also use the 54 slots per VR squadron as a pilot reserve. Disbanding them into the pool once they are trained up. No more gamyer than the bombing of dot hexes, but riskier because they are all on one ship. Take 54 and multiply that times the # of VR squadrons.

I dont want to have a CVE fully loaded by 2 VR squadrons of 54 planes with 54 pilots each to eat 3-4 torpedoes from some jap sub or some leaked bettys ....
