Yes - unless you have the registry settings installed by the game (or manually, which might take 10x as long) - you will not be able to play the game on the computer. (unsolicited) advice for players: 1) MAKE A COPY OF YOUR INSTALL PROGRAM!!! 2) If you are playing a mod - MAKE A COPY OF YOUR "War in the Pacific" folder which contains your mod... once you install WITP, you can copy these files into a new folder (or on top of your old one) and be up and running in minutes... This is important because MODS CHANGE! and once they do, if you reinstall the mod, you will have a different version of your game, and will no longer be "in sync" with any PBEM opponents you have... 3) You can install WITP to a thumb drive (or external USB drive) by various means, but i recommend MOJOPAC - a free download that allows you to "boot" to an external USB device... this way, if you are on the road, or if your computer goes down, etc., you can continue to run WITP on any WINDOWS computer with a recognizable USB port (some computers (such as high-security government computers, etc.) will block access to USB ports). Do it now, before your machine should crash or be destroyed by a WORM/virus/malware (as recently happened to my computer despite 2 firewalls, antivirus, antimalware, etc.) or physical damage... i was REALLY glad for the backups!!)
