My apologies. It seems I accidentally moved Ning's email to another folder where it has languished until I saw GKar's message. I should have clued in that Ning had posted his turn....

**********

Germany, discquited by the large amounts of Soviet espionnage, shifts troops to her Eastern borders. A diplomatic rebuke warns that further violations of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact will not be taken lightly.....

**********

Using the neutral view mode, one cannot see the large number of tac and strat bombers massed in Britain..... Curiously, German forces in Austria were revealed(?)

Russian Winter 1941 is rather light - we save the coldest weather for next year if Germany really wants to visit Moscow
Numerous troops including Paras in Romania, most tanks (7 out of 10 or so) in East Prussia. A lot of bombers across the fronline but Germany seems to have omitted to build up their Infantry Armies (17 total) ...

Japan has massed its troops in the Chinese provinces so no double team in sight (yet).

turn sent to Ning

WA 41 winter turn.

Portugal is occupied, Persia turned Axis learning so will be the next target.
Hope pressure from 3 sides would make next turn easier for Russia.

I actually wasn't planning to attack Russia this turn (next turn was the target). However, apart from having a greater stockpile of supply, I would not be appreciably in a stronger position. So..... Kiev, East Poland, Odessa, and Belarus are taken with minimal losses. Strat bombing yields a damaged factory in Kharkov and a damaged bomber (argh) in Rostov.

Turn sent to GKar (really)

Spring 1941 - Russia faces a heavy tank army in Belorussia which can move into a lot of places next turn. However, with general mobilization human material shall replace heavy weapons to defend Mother Russia...

China is immobilized and awaits the bombing of its last factory.

turn sent to Ning.

WA 41 spring turn.

To support our Soviet friends (at least now), WA entered into Greece to threat Balkan.
Italy becomes the graveyard of Axis fighters.
Too bad Turkey becomes our enemy after Persia, we are peacelovers so can't allow this.

OK. I don't know if anyone reads these AARS anymore or whether those who do so are interested in new tricks.... Assuming a limited yes to both questions, herewith my comments:

Xianing is being a real pain (!) with the transports in Malta. ARGGG He has 5 transports that he can move troops and supply with and then pop back into port (this is a special island/port ability). In retrospect, I should have forced a combat in the central med (even if I were to lose) because I think I know exactly what he is going to do next.... So much for quick turns during the kids' bath! Anyhow, this is very effective pressure on Germany before the US juggernaut is at war.

Interestingly, Ning has also invaded Argenting. I have never seen this before, so I am curious where he is going with it... I presume it was to get diplomatic shift from neighbouring countries. Another neat idea. Hopefully Turkey will shift again once Greece is abandoned and liberated....

As for Hitler's move, I have sacrificed four armour to knock out Gorki and Stalingrad. Both were lightly defended. I hope there were units queued at the factories (I think they are now lost, but am not sure how that works). Otherwise, the sacrifice might not have been worth it....

Turn sent to GKar.

I have always wondered if this "Malta bonus" is justified. Considering that Malta convoys were very costly for the Allies it rather should be disallowed to move ships in and out of island ports at no cost IMO. But only in the next patch

Being aware of the possibility and to tempt the Panzer troopers the factories were used to mostly build tech, so Marshall Schukov smiles and says: "Comerade Stalin, we caught some fresh fish..."

This was a bug in the original GGWAW. During AWD develop, the discussion on fixing it came to the idea that there were few real benefits for ports, and this mechanic might as well be left in the game in order to provide a little enhanced value to ports. It was obviously left in.

With port benefits in Global Glory, I don't really see a need to keep this. It is kind of funky and inconsistent. In particular, it doesn't give any benefit to most (non-island) ports.

This is the kind of thing I'd love to see a screen shot for. I don't know exactly why, perhaps just because I am so incredulous that I want to see it to believe it.

Ning would undoubtedly have a better screen shot (but I am sure he does not wish to show his naval dispostions - not that he has much to worry about), but here is what I can see:

To be honest, I just want to get more resource centers. Because I know soon with the loss of South Asia, US would need to get resources from otherwhere.
As there is not too much penaty (but too bad Turkey changed face) to attack a neutral, Argentina became a good target (less threatened by axis and 2 resoure centers).

Japan, Summer '41: Since the US stopped to pay the well-deserved resource gift lately, the Japanese army decided to go to China to get it themselves. Paotow and Kunming fall.

WA 41 summer,
Italy is invaded by WA, but with a high price(one TB shot down, one HF damaged).
Spain is also taken as the third front with one inf damaged by autohit when landing.
Hope these can help Russia enough (sorry no supplies for Marshall this turn because these two battles).
All German subs were back to repair.

Hehe. Germany's offensives are stalled and 1941 is not even over yet.....

Anyhow, not much luck this turn. Greece is liberated, but Turkey does not experience a diplomatic shift. Reinforcements bound for the Eastern Front are diverted to Western France and North Italy. I can't recall what the surrender provisions are from Italy, but hopefully I have not left something out....

Fall 1941 - Russia advances into Northern Persia and the Baltic States, the pressure from Germany has decreased thanks to a highly effective WA offensive in Spain, Italy and elsewhere... Some more units were dispatched to match the Japanese force in Siberia. China diggs in and hopes it will be spared from further attacks..
