When you select Map Overlay/Polital Targets, areas will show Enemy or Control or Indep with a value. What are these telling me about an area? What would you suggest as a first country and scenario to try and play? I have started one, but have as much on auto as I can (economy, diplomacy and strategy), and am now just experimenting with things to try and see how they work. Thanks

The political targets give or take away your glory and glory is how you win the game.  Each province is not worth much but it adds up.

Sweden is good in the 1805 scenario.  Starts out at war with France but you're still relatively safe.  Not much of an economy to work with but if you can get Denmark, it really opens up a lot of avenues.  You may want to wait till you are no longer at war though to get it as then you're just inviting France to come after you.  However, if they are occupied in Russia, then you may still find it worthwhile to do asap.

Spain similarly is an easier one in 1805 as you start allied with France.  Britain can sometimes make things interesting for you.  Here, you want to try to get Portugal or even make designs on North Africa or Naples.

In earlier scenario's, you can try Prussia/Austria and they aren't so hard.  But they are very hard in 1805.
