Before I make my decision I need to know a couple of things

First, what resolutions does JTCS support?

Second, is there a windowed mode?

Third, are there any campaigns with finns in it?

1)Yes, any resolution your computer is set to.

2)No, I dont think so.

3)I dont usually play campaigns so I'm not sure, but I have play some scenarios with Soviet vs Finland engagments.

I would just get it.The game has unlimited replayability with full editors, so you can even make your own camapign if you want. And if you want I can play you in an Online game or PBEM as your first victim.

PS:I just checked, you can even generate a Russia vs Finn engagement as well.

There is one Russain vs Finn campaign, and I believe there are some scenarios using the Finns as well.

As for windowed mode - while there is none, the game does not switch your screen resolution or use any strange video modes and thus alt-tabbing is completely problem free

V22 Osprey: I might take your offer, after I have learned the game

Windowed mode is just useful with some old games, not a deal breaker.

Seems that there is enough Finns for me.

One more that I forgot, just to make sure:
Do all games use the same engine with some game-specific special rules thrown in?

Yes, same engine. But special rules each.

Some examples:
East Front - I belive there is a higher modifer or something like that in east front when assaulting bunkers.
Rising Sun - Japanese get special rules like banzai attacks, the Japs are the only nation that can use caves, all Jap infantry can ride bikes, and Japese Leaders are 50% more vulnerable.I do belive caves are only in rising sun as well.
West Front I think its just normal.Of course all the special rules and stuff for the games are explained in the manual.
