31: Either the Japanese O-I Super Heavy tank (120t, 3 turrets), while it was experimental, one was shipped to Manchuria where it is unknown if it became operational, or more likely, the German Tiger II (69.8t), 487 built.

Yes, the score is air to air kills.

It is not the Spitfire, Typhoon, P-39, P-47 or P-51.

Good Hunting.

micheljq suggested F6F Hellcat in a earlier post. Is that the correct answer?

It is not the Mig-3, Yak-3, Spitfire, Typhoon, P-39, P-47, P-51 or F6F Hellcat.

Answer for 12) Mmmm, Mount Cassino in Italy for the allies and Stalingrad for the Axis.

46) The Sherman US tank.

47) The Mosquito had a wooden frame I believe most of his parts were made from wood, except the engine and other things of course. Could the moisture and heat of the Pacific create problem in that airplane?

Berlin was not the largest successful military operation of all time.

18) The 2-pdr portee was not an Armored Fighting Vehicle (AFV). But an antitank gun mounted on the back of a truck. It did face backwards though. That's not what I'm looking for in this case though.

29)Yes, it was the Dornier 335 Pfeil.

39) The Panzerschreck is correct. I was a copy of the bazooka which the Germans captured in Tunisia. The Panzerfaust is not a copy of the bazooka.

43) Hehe, never heard that before, but the "cats" had a layer of Zimmerit - antimagnetic paste. Zimmerit is not what cat fur refers to.

48) No, the Mig-3 is not correct.

Good Hunting.

Hmm, I would say the premise of this question is questionble. There have been exhaustive research(thank the miniature panorama ppl) done into the Maus and it was found it was never actually certified as operational. That would require that the inspector of the panzerwaffen to sign it off. There is no evidence of that. It has been proven as far as possible it never saw combat and the "order" to move to Berlin has been proved questionble too. More likely it was ordered to move. In order to avoid being captured by advancing russian forces.
My gist is use of the specific word: operational in this context is not correct, in respect to the given answer.

22) Who in the German Army was simply known as "The Count"?

Cant remember the name of hand(its long as hell), but clues for others is that he later was made inspector of the panzerwaffen.
In 1941 he is credited with after his tank is knocked out, to have single handely being armed with only a pistol turning back a russian armored "attack" and saving his crew.

24) How many Soviet Tank and Mechanized Corps were there from 1942 to the end of the war? Counting Guards units as well.

Counting counters in Europe the board game produce these numbers. Note some are renamed Guard and isnt counted twice. Tank corps 25, Mech 14 including those that never saw combat.

25) The United States had how many cavalry divisions during WWII?

2 or could be 3 IIRC.

34) What two hammer blows were triggered on the anniversary of Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union? They were the same year and were set to compliment each other.

Bagaration launched 22 june 1944 and D-Day.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

The US 101st Airborne. If I remember my 'Band of Brothers' episodes correctly.

Good Hunting.
