The AE team discovered something that is most likely present in WitP as well (corrected now in AE and possibly in 1.807 as well). But until the next WitP patch comes out, make sure your SOUND settings match each other in addition to all of the other usual culprits. This wont cure all the ills in the sync issues, but it will help. Thank Michaelm for stumbling across the code for it while looking for a problem in me and Treespiders game.

Cool. Weird how sound settings affect resolution.

Only weird Sync problems I noticed were night attacks tend to target friendly/enemy ships, and naval aircraft like TBF get dive bomber sounds, or F4F's get TBF sounds etc. I can't help but have my SBD sounds roaring, nothing like hearing that dive and BOOOM! or mostly *splash*

Presumably anything that can give rise to an extra call to the random number generator can mess stuff up. Maybe there was more than one type of sound associated with a given event and it was trying to decide which to use. Just a thought.

Well the example he posted was in the music routine. The game randomly picks 1 of 4 sound tracks to play while the turn runs. Personally I play with the music off. Apparently Tree doesnt

I’ve got an annoying bug at present, in my PBEM CHS155 game against Shark7. For some reason most of my Allied merchant fleet is sinking, think I’ll call it the random merchant sinking bug, or ‘RMSB’ for short.

Think you might have a shark operating in your back yard.
