Thanks to the help from an other community member I am now able to extract the OOB data into a form I can use in MS Excel. I have started to make up reference charts for the fighting nations contained in SPWAW. My first try has been with The German OOB. The MS Word charts are formatted to fit 19 pages of 8.5x14 legal size paper. The link below will take you to the Zip file containing three files. Two MS Word DOC files and the original MS Excel file used to create the charts. My next targets are the Russians, the US Army, UK, and the US Marines. These charts take time so don’t expect to see them appear too fast. http://www.members.home.net/syl-leclerc/GermanCht.zip

Keebler, This is along the lines of something I was thinking of, too I sent you some e-mail describing the site I was thinking about. Can't wait to check your stuff out! (edit) Just FYI...The e-mail address specified for you in the UBB here wasn't valid. -Andy [This message has been edited by Latka (edited October 20, 2000).]

Bah... here's the e-mail I was going to send --------------------------- I knew I couldn't be the only one thinking along these lines! Hopefully sometime in the near future (this weekend maybe?) I am going to try to start putting something together that would allow people to search the OOBs to find info on the units... something that would let them put together "test" OOBs with different point values, etc. Also - I think it'd be handy to have some utility that would "match" two vehicles or units together to see how they stack up... ie, how's my early US tank going to do against German armor...Japanese, etc. I figure it'd have some sort of drop down menu system to pick each vehicle, and then a representation (either text or visual, but both would be nice!) of the penetration possibilities. It'd be nice to know what to watch for before you go into battle I think the best way to do this would be using ASP and some sort of database. Once that was set up, I could write queries to the database from the website and generate dynamic content. In theory, it would be a really cool site. In actual practice, it may be quite a bugger to get it running! I'll take a look at your site when I get home tonight (still at the office). Aloha, Andy K. Kaneohe, Hawai'i

Ahh, Kaneohe huh?! I was stationed for 4 years at the Marine Corps Air Station, beautiful area, although when my Mother was visiting some relatives there a few years ago, she was escorted on my old base and took pictures, didn't recognize much, they built so much on since '84!!! That's where I was stationed, too. I left the base in '94 and the Navy has since moved their P-3s in... so they got TONS of money now! ...I live right across the bay from the base. The F-18s are back in town, so our mornings are nice and loud! Semper Fi and all that good stuff. -Andy

Hay I've been to that base also. Visited it a few years ago as part of the Canadian Navy. My ship was stuck in Pearl for almost three weeks for repairs. Hard life I tell ya. Sacred Falls is just around the corner form there is it not? Had the chance to spend some good quality time in and around the Hawaiian Islands. Took two weeks leave and went on an expedition of sorts! I tell ya you yanks have some tough postings... us Canadians might get posted to Alert if we are lucky! That’s north of the arctic circle if you don't know where it is. Pics of me at Sacred Falls [This message has been edited by Keebler (edited October 21, 2000).]

Just pulled out My VB books, and am going to start working on an OOB sorting and browsing program. This is going to be a while since this is my first VB project from the ground up. Just making up the structure and flow charts now. There has to be a better way to play around with the OOB and not everyone has MS Office.
