I thought a pinch, a squeeze and a tickle with my wife in between WITP turns might be more suited to the wait as AE is getting closer and closer each day.

The guy who did that has more patience than I.

That is an impressive creation!

Over 6 years!

He could have built something faster out of other materials.  There is a 1/72 scale Bismark model that's supposed to be coming out soon.  It would look tiny next to the 1/40 Yamato.

When I was a kid I remember seeing a 1:72 Fletcher. I think Revell made it. Do you know if any companies make one these days. My search has turned up nothing.

Your probably thinking of this: http://www.ehobbies.com/lnd70815.html

Revell Germany recently came out with a 1/72 Gato sub. I hear it's a wonderfully detailed kit.

Good idea....i remember an empty place on the cupboard in my gaming room, which can be filled with an Essex class Carrier or something like that.

There is a nice Essex out in 1/350 scale from Trumpeter.  Actually they model a few of the Essex class carriers.  They also have an early Saratoga, a 1942 Lexington, and a Hornet (CV 8).  They are nice kits, I have a few.
