Hi!

Just doing my best keeping this post up there so when vets or newcomers come in here they can find it. This should be a STICKY post. Matrix?

long time wargamer. bought original copies of pacwar and "the second front" if you can believe that. ;)

Guys : go back and edit your posts and provide more info to make it easier to find opponents. Use cut and paste of the following information.

PREFERRED SIDE : ALLIED (options are ALLIED, IJN, NONE) - note can add comment like I do : but will play IJN also if you can't get an opponent.

PREFERRED GAME LENGTH : CAMPAIGN (options are CAMPAIGN, LONG, MEDIUM, SHORT SCENARIOS)

TURNS PER WEEK ON AVERAGE : 5-7 (OPTIONS ARE : As many as possible, 10-20, 7-9, 5-7, 3-5, 2 or less)

Hi guys

I also still have the originals copies left of those games. I remember bugging my father for 15 minutes before he decided to buy Second Front for me ( I was only 13 ). I still remeber how much I enjoyed playing that game and how I came late for an after lunch class which really made my teacher angry. I blamed it on my uncle Gary Grigsby:)

Oh yeah, Carriers at war. I think I had that for my Atari. I liked the Atari platform. Those were the good old days.

Let the fortunes of war play out. For those of us who have struggled with board games consisting of hundreds of counters and ambigious rules; U.V should be the turning point. I'm ready to play and can manage 5-7 sessions per week. Terms negotiable, surrender is not!

Prefer to take Japanese. I ordered through Chips and Bits so I am afraid mine might arrive later than those who ordered directly through Matrix.
I, like Ron above, would like one day to familiarize myself with the game before I play. eumolpo@msn.com

I'm up for a pbem game, though I am very rusty on wargames (used to play Pacific War, A3R and the Victory nth Fleet games in m'younger days).

I'd like to play a long campaign as the Allies - Midway or no Midway, I'm not fussy.

I'm new to operational-level wargaming, but I've always enjoyed tactical.

Would anyone be willing to play with the understanding that it may get ugly waiting for me to get my sea legs?

Expecting delivery of UV today, I look forward to reading the manual and playing through the tutorial / smaller scenarios, but will also be anxious to get into a PBEM game. I will send private e-mail to some of the addresses you've all posted in this thread, but if anybody needs an opponent please let me know.

I am up for almost anything, but will want to have at least one long campaign / no Midway game, and I am willing to play either side. I've been playing wargames since the 60's and computer versions of WWII games set in the Pacific since the early 80's (Guadlecanal Campaign, etc.), but I do not consider myself any kind of expert. I love to play and I try to win, but I'm more interested in the "what if I try this..." than anything else - consequently, I often loose (but I always have fun!).

Newbie to UV, but a longtime board and computer wargamer. Played UV's predecessor on the Apple II many moons ago.

Wish to play a PBEM game with a similar level player, looking to learn as we go.

Veteran wargamer here who'd like to try the '43 campaign as the Japanese using 1-day turns. Unfortunately I ordered my copy thru Chips & Bits so probably won't get the game for another week or so. My email: IMPoindexter@hotmail.com

Carentan,

I too am kicking back on a rainy Saturday, however my copy according to UPS is still in "sunny" CA since the 15th (grrr) I am slightly above neophyte having played some PacWar PBEM in my past...

Whenever UV gets here I will happily engage in warfare

1) any side, any conditions - will average 1 turn a day, more on my days off (sorry I'm not a Mon-Fri worker, 12 hr rotating shift every-other-weekend-off shift worker)
2) will be out of commission for a week 6-13-02/6-20-02 so factor that in too... if interested moore4807@comcast.net

I currently have one PBEM gave of UV going vs a Japanese player. I would like to start one with me playing as the Japanese. I am a dedicated player and will not quit no matter how it goes till the end. I would expect the same.

I play 1 day turns, the rest is negotiable. If interested e-mail me at sinjen_blackstar@hotmail.com. I also have the capability to use voice coms via Teamspeak if needed.

Hi!

I am already playing and will shortly play against an american, canadian and an aussie. All the germans I was expecting to play against has not recieved their games yet. It would be great to find european UV players to play against considering the fact that we live in the same time zone. I only play the long campaign scenario 17 non midway at this time. Allies or Japs? You decide.

If you choose the Japs please send first turn to UVPBEM@hotmail.com

I hope to see you in the Pacific soon!

I am impatiently waiting for my copy of the game to arrive (supposedly tomorrow!). I don't want to piss Matrix off, but would anyone be willing to email me the pdf file for the manual to my work email id? I would love to be able to print off the manual at work. That way I could read the manual tonight at home and be ready for the game when it arrives tomorrow.

I'm looking for a Japanese opponent in the long campaign - Historical or no-Midway, you pick. I'm pretty new to PBEM, but am a long time war gamer. I'll play until the game ends, even if you're marching through Australia...
If interested, email me at tonkalax@aol.com

I've had the game for 2 days and I'm ready! Seriously, the learning curve is quite shallow, then steepens. It's pretty easy to get going, but i feel that further refinement is only going to come by playing other people. Besides, no AI is going to be as devious as a human. So, I'm up for a game, any game. Prefer Japanese, since i have yet to play allied and don't want to know anything about them yet

Drop me a line, or i will contact a few people here
