Germany redeploys the victorious Wehrmacht to the French frontier; no combat in the West.

Chinese infrastructure and airfields feel the effects from a heavy round of Japanese airstrikes.

W40 - The attack on the Low Countries begins with port strikes ... the LS is taken out by raiding Dorniers. The hapless Belgian army disappears after a few days fighting. Gunther Prien catches the Royal Oak off Scapa Flow and sends her limping back to port. Air raids in China damage another rail and resource.

Axis Spring 40

The Germans go with a frontal assault on the Maginot Line; results as shown.

Dorniers from Belgium sink a UK trannie after the FoF.

Scouting U-boats detect that there are no British battleships guarding the northern approaches, so the Scharnhorst/Gneisenau sortie for Brest, dispatching a UK cruiser flotilla enroute.

Light air raids in China; 1 rail & 1 resource hit.

Axis Summer 40

The Brits placed a light air screen (1 CAG, 1 FTR) to keep the Kriegsmarine and the Luftwaffe bottled up in France ... the German battlecruisers & subs sortie; driving off the British aircraft and damaging the CAG. Heinkel squadrons fly through the gap and dispatch another UK trannie. Finally, repeated sorties by Heinkels and 2 LS squadrons damages a French sub flotilla off the Norwegian coast.

Little action in China; 1 resource hit by air attack.

Allies Su 1940

Following continuous harassment of Allied transports and surface fleets Churchill gives the order to "Sink the Bismarck"

So the RAF go on what looks like a suicide mission into France but come away with a very good result damaging the BB sitting in dock in exchange for a damaged allied fighter....

Eastern Med fleet is reinforced yet again and it looks like Rommel will have to settle for mountains of Greece rather than the sands of North Africa...

British Isles are reinforced...

Any it looks like mussolini is on holidays???

Allied Fall 41 (Aussie)

A quiet turn with no combat; the Brits brace for Italy's entrance into the war.

Axis Winter 41 -

The Fury of Il Duce is unleashed and the war at sea begins in earnest ... Italy seizes Malta, the Wehrmacht rolls into Greece wiping out the Greek army, the Greek fleet is mopped up by Italian battleships, Stuka raids harass the Royal Navy's Eastern Med fleet, and the wolfpacks are turned loose into the South Atlantic.

More air raids in China ... 4 resource hits.

Axis Spring 41 -

The British leave Gibraltar sparsely garrisoned ... Heinkels & Italian BBs, knock out the lone defending arty, allowing the Sardinian militia to land unopposed.

The Luftwaffe masses in the Eastern Med to good effect; destroyed 1 fighter & 1 militia, damaged 1 sub, 1 lt bomber, 1 arty, 1 factory, 2 rail and Crete taken via paradrop.

Syria revolts against the Empire, providing a beachhead for further Axis excursions into the Middle East.

3 WA trannies damaged in the Battle of the Atlantic.

In the Pacific the Chinese have massed their army in Changsha, leaving two units in Chungking vulnerable to a massive onslaught by the Japanese air force (including the IJNs carrier wings).

Gibraltar-based Me109s take down a CAG; 2 wolfpacks returning from the North Atlantic find unescorted trannies.

In the Middle East the CW supply lines are cut by U-boats and He-111s based out of Syria; Transjordan is invaded and heavily reinforced with troops and bombers. Another air battle over Cairo as the Luftwaffe tries to chase the RAF out of the region.

Not much to report in China; 2 resource hits & 1 rail hit.

Action in the Middle East ... the Germans seize Saudi Arabia, sending the Luftwaffe to attack the British Fleet off the Yemeni coast ... assault troops invade Sudan and force the surrender of the Indian defenders. U-boat raiders damage two trannies off of Gibraltar.

In the Far East the Chinese are in an exposed position ... Japanese HBs damage the inland factories, then a massed assault hits the Chinese army in Changsha, killing/damaging all the remaining Chinese on-map units.

Germany pushes into the Indian Ocean; landing in Western India. Submarine and air attacks score heavily on WA transports and destroyers.

Japan repositions forces in preparation for the Pacific War.

Axis Spring 42 -

Getting into the high risk/high reward part of the Axis strategy; Russia could enter at any time, but the British position in the Far East is too vulnerable to relinquish the advantage.

Massed Stukas from Oman wipe out the British fleet off of Madagascar; India is isolated by Italian cruisers, Heinkels blast the infrastructure in Southern India and reinforcements pour into the German beachhead in Western India.

German troops push south into British East Africa; a large British garrison is isolated on Madagascar island. The Indian Ocean and the South Atlantic are cleared of British shipping for the time being.

Wonder what are the research levels for the russians and their WR? Those two factors would be crucial to stop the Axis imho, linked to a flawless strategy .

SGT Rice is among the top

Axis Fall 42 - Russia

The main event finally begins ... Barbarossa opens with an airborne assault on the Caucasus oilfields and W. Kazakhstan.

Then airstrikes hit the Russian fighters, bombers & rail lines in Kiev & E. Poland. Frontal assaults on the main Soviet positions are successful, although the German panzer spearheads take significant casualties (1 destroyed, 2 damaged). German HBs torch factories in Leningrad & Stalingrad, with damage to Kazan.

While Barbarossa gets underway the German & Italian fleets are also busy with support from Luftwaffe fighters ... the Brits are engaged in all theatres.

Axis Fall 42 - Pacific

Japanese fighters from Midway take out the US CAP over Pearl Harbor (the US fleet has already evac'ed to the West Coast), while a Japanese LS knocks out a lurking US sub. 4 veteran/elite Japanese CAGs engage US CVs arriving from the Atlantic, wiping them out.

A Japanese HB from New Guinea keep the Victoria factory offline for another turn.

Axis Winter 43 - Russia

The Wehrmacht hunkers down for the winter ... reinforcements are shipped/railed into Kiev & the Baltic States to secure the captured territory.

Luftwaffe HB strikes continue to have great success ... 5 Russian factories damaged. Stukas hit the Russian Black Sea Fleet sending them to the repair yards.

The Fallschirmjagers withdraw to Persia in the face of overwhelming Soviet forces.

Limited action in the Atlantic ... an Italian BB sortie damages a WA LS and one trannie damaged by a U-boat.

Axis Winter 43 - Pacific

A high-level picture of the Pacific showing the extent of the Co-Prosperity Sphere ... this turn the Japanese seized Pearl Harbor, New South Wales, Mandalay and several islands.

Axis VPs stand at 81; an AV in Spring 43 seems inevitable at this point.

Well im back...

Just wanted to thank SGT Rice for an awesome game...he was one step ahead of me the whole time!
And sorry for not posting every turn...its no fun when your getting smashed all across the board

Anyway an excellent stratergy to start off the first two years of the war had me paralyzed at pretty much every stage and now there is no hope of a recovery, so rather than delay the inevitable ill let SGT Rice take the decisive vicotry...

Good luck with the next few rounds of the tournament...
