I haven't played WitP in about 2 years but since the time I bought it my price per hour of enjoyment is something like $0.000001. I have honestly played WitP more than any 5 games added together and enjoyed it more. I remember feeling the joys (and pains) every time my Carriers went against my opponents. The game is worth it. Now I just need to find time in my day (between work, home and my almost 3 yr old) to play AE when it comes out. I will definately be buying it, but it might be some AI time for me until I can sneak away time to play PBeM again.

Graycompany, I take your point about marketing. But Terminus's earlier post in this thread illustrates my point: most people expect there to be a bundle of some sort, even if the actual bottom-line price for WITP+AE is no different than what Matrix currently has planned. It's a matter of perception and psychology, as Erik says.

Also, it's in our interests to grow the game's fanbase. We want more people playing WITP (and AE) so that we have PBEM opponents, so that we can talk shop with fellow lunatics here, and so that there's enough of a fanbase to justify a WITP-2. We diehard WITP owners are all going to buy AE anyway. The question is: what about those who don't own WITP? Will the fence-sitters take the plunge?

You may be right Grotius, although I think most fence sitters are on the Fence for a reason. if they have not purchased WITP by now, im not so sure how many AE will draw in. I to will purchase AE, regardless of the price.

Then again, I imagine a significant portion of us have known that this was in the works for sometime and decided to wait for it's release. However, I do not live on the forums, thus I did not know I needed to purchase WITP first before I could play AE, I thought it would be an inclusive item like COG:EE. Oh well, I'm sure I will pick it up when it comes out.
