Hi all,

Following my first experience seeing an actual WWII air veteran fly for the first time....i dragged the GF unit the Boeing museum to snap some more photos. As with the FHC photo shoot i figure it might be of interest...particularily for those who wanted some WWI photos.

Fantastic "Nik" - thanks!!!

Did you go across the street to check out Air Force One and the Concord? Cool stuff.

Not this time....not enough time!

Well, be sure and put it on the "A" list next time. Airforce 1 is reallly neat. There's a story out there that Pr. Johnson was always complaining about the temperature in back and was giving the crew a hard time about it. They installed a temperature controller for him in his office. Placebo. It wasn't hooked up to anything. When the steward came in he would always note whether the setting had been changed and then go tell the pilots to warm it up or cool it off. Gotta love it.

Beauties.. all of them! Just to touch, stroke and feel their skins with hands ... Ehm, is it past 22:00 already ?

Amazing details Nik... You should post them to some plastic-kits modellers forums too....

I recognize most of the planes in the WW I and WW II rooms from the Champlain Collection.  Though the Jenny without skin has belonged to the MoF for a long time.

BTW, the Collins Foundation B-24 and B-17 will be passing through the NW the next couple of weeks.  6/10-12 in Corvalis, OR, 6/12-15 in Hillsburo, OR, Seattle 6/19-22.

The one disappointment for me there at MoF was the Pup replica... wish they'd had her on the ground.  The MiG pics bring back memories of sitting in an active duty Egyptian 17 & a 21... had to know 3 languages to read the instruments... English, Egyptian and Russian (the Egies were rather adamant about staying away from the active duty Badgers though. A little AK waving was usually involved in many of my attempts. *grin*).

Another area highlight is the Paul Allen collection.  They periodically fly their planes.  My one trip up to watch them fly (their Spit & Yak) was a bust as the weather didn't allow for the scheduled flight.  The collection used to be housed in Arlington, Wa.  Last I heard they moved to Everett, Wa.

I just saw two of them fly last Sat. Go to the Flying Heritage Thread on this same page. I posted the whole collection!

I wish i could say the same for the WWI types. Not as boned up on them as post WWI. I recognized the Sopwith Camel thx to Charles Schultz and Snoopy of course.

Thx for the tip on the 24/17 I got to tour them last year but didn't have a camera! This time i'll rectify that. I hear the MoF is restoring a B-29....viewed by apt only. Is that up in Everett?
