Sorry if I confused you leeman67 as my post was meant for jdhalfrack.

It looks to me like his near involment of working with this editor is not promising. Don't hear much about update or problem solving but can't complain since he did some nice work as far as it went.

Yes, no biggie.  I will go ahead and manually edit, which won't be that difficult because at least I have the base names in the roster file.  What I'm doing is taking a 1976 NFL season file from Madden '04 (created by "Muscle Mike" from the FootballFreaks.com forum) and transferring it to MaxFB.  I have transferred the ratings and am now just adjusting jersey numbers, depth charts, etc.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. It's just been a very interesting past month... I really AM close to finishing this latest release I've been working on. It really is a "step backwards," but the coding is much more stable. So, after I release it, updating it should be much easier. I'll check out your other posts here and see what I can fix/do.

Just run the installer and you should be good to go. There will then be a shortcut and just click on it and it will load. If you have a Vista then there are some files you need to download. I hope this helps.

No problem. Glad to help. How do you like the editor? I was really enjoying it until I got a Vista.

I keep getting this message run-time error 3265: Item not found in the collection.
What does it mean and what should I do?

Has anyone heard from jdhalfrack lately? I'm just wondering if he has made any more progress on the next version of his editor.

Thanks!

He is working on the Football Freaks Madden 09 project so I doubt he has had time.

Hey JD,

Any chance we could look at how/what figures you're using for your overall ratings (ie how each rating is weighted for each position) like we could on the original .xls document you supplied on an old post?

Hopefully we'll see an updated version someday soon. I dunno what this Madden Freaks thing is, but Madden is no good anyway...gave up on that years ago.

I'm having a problem with JD's editor. I have compiled a csv file for the NFL 1968 season with player stats. I want to import that csv file into a 68 league file I created in MaxFB (so I don't have to enter each player's info individually into the MaxFB league db).

I load the MaxFB league database into JD's editor. Then I import my '68 player csv file. The file imports and I can see all my csv player data in JD's editor combined with the MaxFB data. So far so good.

But when I try to save the database JD's editor returns a "run time error 3021 No current record". The db does not save and it wipes out the player info that was in the MaxFB db. My own player db seems to be ok.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone know what I can do to get around it?

Thanks,

wp

Mykal,

Thanks for the offer to get JD involved. I do not have JD's email address so if you can contact him, I'd much appreciate it.

If we can get this problem resolved it will make it much easier to mod hiistorical/current NFL rosters for MaxFB. The relevant info (including jersey nos.) can be d/l'ed from the FB Reference site in csv format which can then be cut & pasted into a file that can be imported into a league mdb file using JD's 1.7 editor.
