I'm a little frustrated with how to hotseat without giving away intelligence.

1) The Japanese player does his turn;

2) The Allied player does his;

3) The computer displays the game turn resolution from the Allied player's point of view;

4) The game cycles back to the Japanese orders phase, without allowing the hapless Japanese player a view of the resolution from his point of view.

Surely this was not the intent of the designers? As it stands it is unplayable for hotseat, and I have a friend and neighbor who would very much like to play.

Thanks ahead of time,

Mark

Erik,

If PBEM worked that would certainly be the answer. But of course it doesn't work, as you've observed in a related post. I can't hotseat, neither can I PBEM. I have enjoyed some of the play I've had against the computer, but even that is buggy. I believe you have a great concept here, but I just wish it wasn't in the paying customer beta test phase!

Hope you get it worked out very soon.

It would be dishonest if I said I wasn't pretty disappointed.

Mark

I'm using the PBEM and have been using it for months. It works, but apparently the latest version occasionally reveals a bit more than it should. Nevertheless, while it is our top priority to make sure nothing is revealed beyond what absolutely has to be, it is not broken and lots of folks are having fun, challenging games with the current PBEM system.

The replay is a combined replay for both sides, so there is fog of war in everything. While you will get spotting reports, weather problem reports and such, the only ships and planes you'll see are those involved in combat or spotted and then you'll see only what can be seen through the fog of war.

In other words, give it a try. :)

Regards,

- Erik
