That would suck.

Like I said in another post, I also had problems with this. But I didn't know if it was my computer or if I was too stupid.

Franck,

I thought you managed to get it combined because I got a new file from you.  What happened?

Well I have 2 CPUs. It works on my old laptop. Unfortunetely, I hate playing on it because it takes about 15-20 minutes to open the game etc... So playing a turn takes me about 1 hour. So I can definetely get away with it. But I just bought a new CPU a while ago, and on that CPU it doesn't work. On the main menu when I hit the combine PBEM button the game just crashes...

I can live whitout a fix (because of my other CPU) for wich I might just end up buying more RAM... But it would be a better solution for me to get a work around.

It sounds like you do indeed have the same problem I have with my laptop (which is what prompted our note in the manual). Until such time as we figure out the cause of this your options are: 1) add memory to the other computer, 2) have everyone in your game pass the files from one to the other instead of having everyone send them to you, or 3) play a nation that isn't last in the order. #2 seems your best option, though it will slow down your game somewhat.

It's currently a mystery to us why a small number of systems can't handle the new PBEM-combining function, but at least the old way of handling PBEM files works just fine.

OK thanks...

It will have to be buying new memory for me.
-number 2 no one will accept
-number 3 it's kind of long to start a game and alot of diplomacy already took place. I'll be sure to apply it in later games tough.

Thanks again I just wanted aclear answer if that was like what was reported or something totally new.
