HiHi

Evwalt, I did send you an email yesterday saying I ain't keen on all the faffing about with Mods etc, I'll just wait till WCS make it an 'Option' through their set-up (which apparently they are thinking of doing), so be best if you try IW, he's already modded up anyhow for the 109 game.

Hope you guys have a good game, have fun, but keep it Clean :-)

All the Best
Peter

BTW: If we do NOT want to play with my 1792 Denmark All Generals mod, that is ok by me.

This would mean we would need to go with the standard 1792 Denmark scenerio (ie. no Napoleon).

Everyone please give a vote here on the thread of the following. This is also to make sure everyone is still interested.
*****Yes/No
1) 1792 Denmark All General?
2) 1792 Denmark (standard--ie. no Napoleon)
3) Change stats of Forger Ability?

Also, everyone please confirm the country you are next to on the first post. It should match with what everyone told me. Also, we are still hunting for a Turkey, though I think Ironwarrior would cover us in a pinch....

If you are still hunting for Turkey, I will try to play them if you still need me, though I'm not keen on modding files etc as my existing game doesn't involve them. Probably can't promise more than a 48 hr turnaround either, at least on a consistent basis. But let me know?

PS IW would make an excellent Turkey. He has already been a brilliant France.

SUCCESS! Per a PM with Deadmeat (who has agreed to play Turkey) we are full.

PLEASE, everyone make a post of the thread confirming your country and voting on Denmark All Generals Mod, regular Denmark scenerio and modding forger ability (and also we know if you are still interested!

Let me say, I have NO attachment to the 1792 Denmark All Generals mod I completed (though I do think it would be better). I'll be glad to play whatever everyone else wants (ie. simple, unmodified Denmark 1792).

Well good luck to you deadmeat! Pbem is the only way to play this - several of the single-player features missing in pbem, but you can't beat the intrigue, betrayal and petty squabbles! Have fun!

No worries, but it's true about the community. Feel free to contact me if you need me. Personal experience tends to suggest you might have a dropout by turn 2 or 3, but after that you have a settled group of players, and a brilliant game.

Sorry Selim.

Hummmm. In doing my All Generals Denmark 1792 research, I discovered Denmark's ruler was a crazy old coot. I wonder what that makes me

The sad thing is Turkey would probably have more people STARVE in a famine than Denmark will have in her whole county.

Well, I do like a challenge.

HiHi

Rest easy DM, Turkey nor anyone else gets famines in PBEM, as Lenin suggested many things do not cross over to PBEM, 'Historical events' being one of them.

If you guys notice stuff not happening raise it on the main MB, for eg it appears as though 'Blockades' don't work in PBEM etc.

All the Best
Peter

Cheers Pete... actually if you guys get an opening, might ask lenin first as I really have a lot on my plate right now. Hope one of you decide to do an AAR... I'd like to enjoy a game as an observer.

Peter, re: blockades... actually I have seen them work in pbem. I think it was being on the receiving end of it that I noticed it in my reports. I have a feeling that it is similiar to privateers... the one using the privateer has no idea if anything happens, but the nation whose trade is affected gets a better idea. Anyway, there should be something mentioned in the blockading/privateer player's reports so they at least know it's working.

Good luck with the game... will be watching with interest!

HiHi

Hey Bill, Oooops, I picked up the wrong end of the stick then, as when I mentioned to you that there seemed to be no effect showing on the 'Country Details' for the Blockades of both you, & Sweden in the 1st game, I thought you agreed there was little noticable effect through blockades, and with nearly all French homeland ports + me owning a few french Homeland provinces I would have thought something would have showed re loss of resources etc. Sorry P. got it wrong.

All the Best
Peter

Hey Peter,

No actually you are right... I actually didn't notice that it was working until after we had talked about it. I meant to mention it to you and forgot. Now whether the effect of the blockades are strong enough, I don't know for sure. Might run this past B2 as he has been reading a book on naval warfare recently.

Cheers,

Bill

Ok. If we should want to play with the 1792 Denmark All Generals mod (or you just want it to play later), follow the below instructions:

1) go to your game files on your computer
2) open the Scenarios directory and create a new directory called 1792_Denmark_All_Generals_S
3) now open the 1792_Denmark_S directory and COPY (don't move) ALL the files to the 1792_Denmark_All_Generals_S directory
4) download the 1792 all generals mod from this post
5) unzip the files into a temporary directory
6) move each file to the 1792_Denmark_All_Generals_S directory and say YES when it asks if you want to replace the file <if it doesn't ask you, you have done something wrong!>

This will produce a specific 1792 Denmark all generals scenerio which will show up on your scenerio list and will NOT affect your old games. For the people who are already using the All Generals mod you MUST do the above, since we are using Denmark in this game.

Once done, everyone play around a bit and make sure everything is ok. Looked good on my computer.

I'll ATTACH THE FILE HERE, as soon as I figure out how to download

<<<<OOPS. You CAN NOT attach a zip file in this thread. Everyone go to the Mods and Scenerio Form and to the 1792 Denmark All generals thread. The above instructions will be repeated there, ALONG with the files. >>>>

Also, if we do go with the 1792 Denmark All Generals mod, I think we must use the following House Rules.

**The French General Dumouriez does NOT need to be removed when Bonaparte appears (as per the All Generals mod). Only remove Dumouriez when Napoleon appears. General Bonaparte must also be removed when Napoleon appears.

**If for some reason, Bonaparte has died before Napoleon appears, remove Napoleon as soon as he appears. (Napoleon was good, but not good enough to come back from the dead!) The French player can retain Dumouriez if he must remove Napoleon in this manner.

**No player may ask the Bonaparte be removed from the game through a treaty.(he was just a regular general, after all). Napoleon is fair game.

Thoughts?

I take it there is a Napolean and a Bonaparte General? Or I am getting very confused.

Still in and happy to do denmark all generals.

Regarding Blockades, maybe we need a discussion on this in another thread?

AFAIK they are working fine. At one point in "Another PBEM" (in the Mid 30s turns perhaps IW could load up and look around for it if he still has the files?) I was blockading 3-4 of Frances largest ports and noticed that his excess money was going down every turn in the "Country Details" screen in Diplomacy. Then again, I was actively interferring with his merchant based profit at that point as well, so its hard to say

Again, maybe IW should check his economic report tab in the saved game files from those turns and get back to us?

Would be nice to know what the game reports about blockades.

Sorry if I wasn't clear about Napoleon.

That is correct, there are TWO Napoleon Bonapartes. The first represents young Napoleon, when he was a general. He starts in 1796 with the 1796 stats and I named him Bonaparte.

As Bonaparte gets older (and a better general), I age him to become Napoleon, and he has all the Emperor's stats (indeed, he will also be promoted to 4 stars if that slot is empty).

Thus, the French player must remove Bonaparte when Napoleon enters the game. He must also remove Dumouriez when Napoleon enters the game (because they both add to NM). The removal of Dumouriez is straight from the original All Generals mod.

CLOSE TO STARTING

We still need confirmation by Guctony (France) and Dab (Spain). Seems like the vote so far is YES to 1792 Denmark All Generals mod (everyone download and test!) and NO to changing the forger ability. (I will say I looked into altering the forger ability and it CAN be done BUT it would affect ALL your games (ie. other PBEMs, single player games, etc.)

Hopefully, we can starting moving by week's end. As I understand it, once we settle on mod or no mod and everyone has the scenerio ready, France creates the game and does his turn. He then emails it to everyone, who do their turn and sends it to Spain. Spain combines the turn, does his own and emails the resulting turn to everyone. From that point on, everyone sends his files to Spain.

Do we wait for everyone to be confirmed before negotiations begin or should we start now?

Also, I forgot. We also need contact emails from everyone. If you want to post them in a thread, I will make a master list on the 1st post.

Also, is everyone going to set a password? If yes, may I suggest we all send them to a neutral, involved 3rd party (Kingmaker maybe?) That way, if someone drops out, we can have another person replace the missing person.

Thanks for the invitation - seems I'm too late for this train...
Quite busy at work right now, anyway.

I have one small question, though - how do you guys remove a general?
Just by bannishing him to a remote island or is there some assasination-function for generals that I'm not aware of?
