Hello! You have created an OUTSTANDING GAME!!!

There are a couple of things I'd like to be able to do (or if we can already, if someone can show me how --- that would be great):

1. Print daily battle reports.
2. Print the game map -- with current know locations of the enemy.
3. Print inventory listing of available assets, battle groups, land assets, etc.

Basically everything you need to plan away from the game.

This way, I can plan at lunch during the day, and make my moves @ night -- quickly. Kids, I'm finding, take away a considerable amount of my game time ;-).

Thanks,
Chuck

There should be a PDF with the map on it in the games folder.

Yes, there is. But it won't have current known locations of the enemy in the game.

Hehe of course, I was referring to the "pin flags" idea ;)

Not the right place maybe but now we are here :)

In this Forum are so much deeper Infos about the Game mechanics could you take them all together so it would be easier to print all out ? or make a new sticky thread for that ?

Btw. its long ago that i buy a Game ( thats first ) and i´m really happy about it and don´t miss my money ( thats second ).

Ah, that's right. I just don't know how those pins will stay when I'm taking it to work (for planning @ lunch -- of course ;-)).

What about the other reports, is it feasible? I realize that it's probably not a high priority.

Ok.

Print it and then (arrgh in german it reads "laminieren") take it in an plastic sheet so you can mark spots on it with an none waterproof pen.

That's a good idea! But if possible, I'd still like to print a battle map. (I'm lazy ;-)).

However, I don't want to focus on just the battle map, hopefully they're open to a wide range of reporting options. The game is very deep, I can think of several reports you'd need.

Again, an outstanding game. I wanted Harpoon X to be more like this (both sea and land warfare.) It's nice to see someone pull it off so well.

Thanks again,
Chuck

I´m sorry, this is a gigantic task we have no ressources for at the moment. Therefore the forum has a search feature.

I´m not sure about the print features that have been asked for, maybe somebody of the rest of the staff can answer that.

Might I suggest Screen shots?

You can span most of the operationally relevant part of the map with a few screen shots, then print these - or send them to yourself at work ;) and away you go.

I thought about the screen shots idea too.

Really though, the map is only part of the equation. The other things (inventory, battle report, etc.) would make screen shots too tedious (at least for my tastes).

My goal would be to make my changes, and print my reports, in under 10 minutes. Like I said, kids take time ;-).

Thanks for all of the replies!

If Matrix Games could provide an API to the data files or at least give me some info so I could figure out the format of the data files, I would be willing to try and produce a program that gamers could use to print out various reports and/or view them.

I took a quick look at some of the data files and they appear to be in something other than an ascii format.

I remember that a guy named "Bear" wrote a PacWar editor that did the trick for that game, but I think he was able to figure out the format of the data files using a hexidecimal editor.
