I took the hex map (cspmap.bmp) in to my handy-dandy paint program and toned down the hexside color . I'd share it with the world, but I don't have anywhere to host the file.

so, if anybody can provide this service...

Sounds Great!! Unfortunately I don't have a place to host it either.

When we get the shallow hexs list, will we be able to mod the map to reflect the shallow hexes?

Why not? it has it's own .bmp

BTW, nice mod idea, mdpeyrot.

sure, they're just bmps. You can scribble them up to your heart's content. You could replace it with a picture of Elvis and it'd still play just fine assuming it's the same size and color depth.

When was it ever toned up?

Last time I checked the hexes were drawn in black on the bmp...

I think he means they made it gray instead of black ... it does seem a little much to me too I thought ...

If Matrix does not have a problem with sharing the file, I have I site I could probably post it on with plenty of bandwidth to spare.

Ok, how about less visible?

I changed it from black to a shade of blue slightly lighter than the dark seas areas.

Ahhh. Well "each to his own said the old lady as she kissed the cow" as my Grandmother used to say.

As to sharing modified portions of the game you would have to take it up with David Heath.

I kind of expect you guys (whoever would make that decision) would probably say no, which is why I wouldn't do it unless you give the thumbs up.
