When early on in campaign, the AI in WIR was under pressure, he often abandoned crucial hexes (the Lgrad-Ladoga supply hex, for e.g.) giving Axis a WTF freebie moment.
Of course, a PBEM game will not see stupid withdrawals from crucial hexes.

Just hoping against hope the AI will be a ruthless, cynical SOB ?

Gary is constantly working and improving upon the Ai. Even at this early stage it can cause a few headaches. As we progress I do expect it to be a very difficult foe. Everytime we figure a way to really spank the Ai..Gary fixes it so we try and try again.

Gary is putting a lot of work into the AI and we are giving a lot of feedback. Anytime we note the AI giving up a high value hex we tell him about it. I always play the Germans and so far the Soviet AI is putting up a good fight and getting better each build. I got a surprise the other day when the AI pulled out of an encirclement that I was working on.

It's proving more than a match for me even at this stage!

Guys, I just want to remind you that we are still early in development. Everything is a work in progress and few things more so than the AI. The goal is obviously to create an outstanding game in all respects, but it's very hard to answer some questions until we get closer to release.

Andy (Sabre21) has helped so much on finding gamey things in our test group. Smart guy... Most players will play agianst the AI but great PBEM is also a goal.

Sabre21 did a lot of helping with Flashpoint Germany way back when - he is indeed a smart guy!
