What do I do with them?

In pac war AV's were used to transport AC, but the distances in this game don't require this. They don't have any sea planes.

CVE's were used to carry reserve AC in replenishment TF's for use by Air Combat TF's. Now I have the Long Island with no air groups and no carrier capable air groups avalible yet.

Any advice appreciated.

The CVE is there to act as an aircraft transport. Load aircraft at ports and then fly them off to your more isolated bases.

Send the AVs in transport task forces to bases that require extra aircraft support. They increase the support level at those bases and enable you to operate more aircraft.

AV's also can support float planes.

Just a point of clarification. The AVs support only floatplanes (floatplanes, float-fighters & patrol). They do not benefit normal (non-float) aircraft. But if you send them to a base that is supporting seaplanes (usually patrol) they will support the seaplanes, thus freeing up the normal aviation support for the other land planes.

i noticed that when i docked a japanesse AV in gasmota and then transfered it aircraft groups to gasmota my support went to 0+22. I was able to base a rufe squadron there also. lets you provide LRCAP from that location.
