Sport twice a day and low carb - that helps!

I don't drink, but when I gave up soda, I fell from 200 pounds to about 180. I'm about 170 or so now, but at 5'9" I could stand to lose a little more. Curse my stocky hibernian ancestors!

Dropping soda got me from 190 to 165 in about six months. I'm 6'2" so beanpole is probably the right word.

yep i allow myself one soda a week. it helps a lot.

I need to be better about that. I hate diet soda but fully eliminating reg soda would be the easiest means of cutting calories. Coke Zero is almost tolerable i guess.

or you could just do like me and drink water. that the best thing to do.

I have been drinking alot more water. Purchased a Brita filtration kit. One still loves a good ice cold Coke on occasion though.

One change i'm trying to make for sure is getting up earlier and working out before starting work. Eliminates the time crunch but at the price of having to get up at 4am in the morning!!

me too......

Since Termy continues to insist on projecting his own issues onto me, i'll come clean.

At the specialist yesterday i weighed in at 190 fully clothed, sneakered and with additional items in the pockets (you can see i'm already making excuses)

I was not happy. Instead of the 10 or so pounds i could stand to lose its looking more like at least 15. (175 would be an ideal weight according to my doc) GF unit, being her usual blunt self has told me repeatedly that it ain't ever gonna happen no matter how much excercising i do (which includes having gotten back on the bike as well as the saddle + weights) as long as i keep drinking beer. She may be right. It sucks to have to make such choices. You never appreciate one's lost youth as much as you do when you realize that the days where you could eat and drink anything and not gain an ounce are gone forever.

I have a friend who used to bartend who told me that he knew a guy who all he did was simply stop drinking beer and he immediately dropped 20 pounds. (i assume he was in his 30's) sigh. I guess beer is my kryptonite. I have cut back a little but still tend to frequent the pub 3x a week with book, highlighter and pencil in hand.

190 pounds??? Wow, talk about the camera adding 110 pounds...

Well, each extra kg needs 6 watt to be pushed uphill, so you'd made me look really bad...

On the other hand, we might try an ITT on a flat course

I sucked at the individual Time Trial... In any kind of wind I'd get blown all over the place and headwinds are my biggest enemy. I'll take a mountain pass any day over a strong headwind!

I drink Coke Zero as my preferred soda now. Several years ago, I quit drinking soda with sugar and dropped 10 pounds within 3-4 weeks.

Thanks for all the good bike advice guys! I will be mostly on roads or bike paths. As moutain bikes hadn't even been invented when I stopped serious riding, you've give me a lot to think about. Right now I'm leaning towards a street bike. In fact, probably a cheap street bike. If I get into it again, I'll know the type of riding and bike I'll need. A cheap bike will wear out faster (giving me insentive and reason to get a better one). Also , I do go off road, I'll not feel bad about beating the crap out of it.

I'll typically have 2-3/week. I will drink a rum and Coke Zero if I can get it.

Now you have the added reason to drink it over full sugar. You can save money by not paying the new tax on sugared sodas.

Has any one recently had the Fatal error 999 problem lately? I've read up on it , and seemed to have stopped some time ago. I just had it hit me. I don't want to do a re-install if I can help it, as I've several games going. And yes, I do have Norton and webroot.

Let's just say , that you will already find a turn in your inbox. But If I don't get the solution, that may very well be your last turn for a while.

yes. Had to reinstall Xp after my old laptop developed a case of terminal Windows "rot". Caused by registry being cleared.

The legs muscles trained from Bodybuilding help here as well as the weight. I'm also really good on cobblestone But uphill... Well, I hate to admit, but bad is not even a good description

Just take out your SAVE folder first. You can't get around the re-install, so just do it quickly and painfully...

Hi all,

Good evening!

Just saw Erik finally announce WitP-AE for late July and tell us the pricing... my years old prediction of 49.99$ was 10$ off...

I like whiskey way too much to allow myself to drink it often. Had some Bushmills last weekend and boy did I pay for it. But I drink too much period. Something I am working on.
