I watched it with my wife and 14 year old daughter. All-in-all we liked it. Taken at face value, it is a nice, light weight, si fi show. Given how hard it is to find a show that appeals to all 3 of us, I hope it does well.

What do you think, will today's stage bring any change in classement (except the actual leader who will loose the jersey for sure)?

Is there any rider who's good enough to benefit from the last descent?

There's some good riders (Astarloa, Casar, Cancelarra and Hincapie) in the break, so if they can hold off the peleton on the Col D'Agnes then I expect some fireworks on the descent. Cancellara and Hincapie in particular are great descenders, but the road levels out too far before the finish for that to matter, IMO.

I also think that with Contador and Armstrong only a few seconds out of the lead, Astana will not let anyone dangerous get too much time.

Ooops! I see that Cancellara just got dropped. He is a good descender, so he might just catch back up on the other side of the mountain.

Hah!   If many think that he's too old... I was a generation earlier. One of my old teammates (Rick Crawford) was his coach when he was a triathlete back in the '80's.

Besides, I was too slow...

Still if you did Mt. Evans I'm impressed. I've only done Green Mtn which isn't even 14k. Since I live here I have no excuse, perhaps next summer I can try Mt. Evans but I think I'll need a better bike and a body transplant

Hey... and I climbed it all the way from sea level. Okay, so maybe it took us a month to reach the summit from the Washington coast, but every foot of that elevation was gained by my legs...

Hi all,

Several people complaining about the price of the WitP-AE... I simply don't understand that... I remeber people complaining when the WitP was due out... and same with UV...

nothing unexpected.

Go into a shop and look at the other computer games. New games between 20 and 40 Euro - only a few go up to 50, but most just 40 here.
So a game with the double price seem too costly on the first look...

I agree. Geez, how do people think Matrix stays in business ? Lay off beer for a bit, or skip a couple of movies, or whatever. I have to assume that anyone complaining about the price is just immature, or ignorant of the economic realities facing a company selling
PC games of this type.

Anyone complaining about the price has never played WitP to learn what an amazing value measured in $/hour it really is.

Historiker, when are you doing your Ironman? I've completed 2 Half Ironman tri's, but have not yet attempted a full Ironman. One day, when I have a LOT more time to train.

2015

I've set a realistic timetable. While swimming and cycling aren't that frightening (I still need to train for both) - doing a marathon after both... well... äähm...

IIRC I once read that shops get around 30% of asked price for their profit... the wargame market is so small that it would be loss to Matrix to do sells that way (just few titles went to shops I think)...

Did my posting show any sign that I doubted this? Did I ever complain about the price?

It's obvious that the market is small and that they still want to earn some money.

Don't understand it myself....Outside of people's impulsive need to complain, because they can. (thx to that wonderful tool called the "internet")

pre internet, post internet...i've never complained about the price of any game........even an O/S (though i might have grumbled about the latter.....)

Arguments about financial situations certainly don't impress me. i've been buying wargames since i was a young teenager and i've gone through numerous financial phases in my life...some good.....alot more not so good. I saved up for weeks doing odd part time jobs to buy Gary Grigsby's 8bit, "War in Russia" which at the time was a whopping $80.00 (compared to 49.99 for most other SSI titles) No whinning....no letter campaign to SSI....i saw the price, i made the decision to meet it, i worked to get it. End of Story as El Cid liked to say often.

To me, its simple, you either have the dough for the product or you don't.....either you find a way to invest in it or you don't. You either decide the product is worth your time, or you don't and move on. No whinning about my house payment etc etc.

reading threads like that just make me want to get my "No Whiners" t-shirt out of moth balls. Just do it...or don't and quit bitching. The way some of the complainers go you'd think they were agonizing over investing in the stock market.

Yeah, price is driven by the market. Guarantee nobody's getting rich off of this.

As to the impulsive need to complain, it's the age old story; some people complain about everything else, to direct everyone's attention away from the fact that they don't have a dick.
