I'd like to make some suggestions for one or the other patch.

First target is the current HD free space requirement that has to be met after the installation. Perhaps it's possible to break down to a level where the game cannot run at all (and state this value as an absolute minimum), but if it's above this and within a certain range the user will be getting a popup with an option, e.g.
"You're low on HD space. You'll only be able to use ### save game slots. Go on (Yes) or Abort (No)?"
At the moment you can never know if you don't accidentally drop below that 'magical' margin, maybe by saving in several slots and reducing your free space each time by 8MB.

Secondly, I'd like to see some kind of startup log file. This would help users/games as well as developers/supporters. The game could write certain notes into a file at the beginning of each initialization phase and append something like '...done' when it finishes each phase. It could look like this
Checking for DirectX compliancy ...done
Switching the video resolution ...done
Setting up the sound ...done
and so on.
That way you could easily tell how far everything went okay, and with the sequence of initializations known to the support team answers could be given quicker (if that's at all possible :)) and there would be less doubt about the origin of certain phenomenae.

Third: Why are there two ASCII initialization files ('settings.ini' and 'uf.prfs')? As far as I've seen 'settings.ini' contains only one entry stating the current version, and that's a numerical value just like everything in 'uv.prfs'. If I could wish for anything, I'd like to see all those settings moved to the ini-file.

As a fourth point (Now I'm starting to get picky), it's not necessary to copy the archives of AdobeReader and CombatNet to the HD. They can remain on the CD and still be used for installation, whereas after that they aren't needed on HD anyway.

Any comments welcomed
