Week 6 is in the books. The Western Division race is getting interesting as the Chicago Cardinals are creeping up on the Houston Oilers. The Eastern Division is still a race between the top 3 teams. In week 7 the key games are Houston at Cleveland & Baltimore at Washington. The Green Bay-Chicago Cardinals game could be interesting because a Cardinal win and a Houston loss at Cleveland would pull the Cardinals into a tie for 3rd place in the West. Baltimore will play their first game against a team with a winning record when they tangle with the Redskins. I predict a Washington win with the result being the Redskins take over 1st place in the East. The Giants at the Titans could be an upset because the Titans are playing very well right now, but the way the Giants destroyed the Yanks, I don't know about this one. The real stink bomb of week 7 will be Dallas at Detroit. This game will determine, at least for now, which is the worst team in the West if not the whole league.

Looking ahead to the end of the season, the playoff structure in each division is 3rd place team plays at 2nd place team and the winner plays at number 1. The West champ will play at the East Champ for the NFL title. That's why 3rd place is important in divisional play.

Action shots of individual games will follow.

Here are some action shots from Baltimore's 28-13 win over Green Bay. The Packers actually had chances to win this game but they had too many turnovers and penalties.

Titans 31 Eagles 7
The score sums it up. Philadelphia didn't show up for this one. It gets worse for them as they play the Bears at Chicago next.

Below is picture set 1.

The Cardinals started the season 0-2 but have won 3 of their last 4 and are playing very well. The Lions, well what can we say, they're 0-6 and are a good candidate for 0-14. I didn't intend for the Lions to mimic last season's 0-16 disaster but ...

The New York Giants destroyed the Boston Yanks 52-0 at Yankee Stadium. I have 4 picture sets to post. There were a lot of Giants' highlights.

My mistake- the Redskins defeated the Steelers in Pittsburgh not in Washington. Both teams run a form of the single wing.

This is the last of my screenshots for week 6. In this game Chicago beat Houston in a tough one 21-14. The Oilers have now lost 2 straight games after starting the season at 4-0.

I like your stories and pictures. Do you plan a complete replay of all NFL seasons ?

Tullius,
Replay of all NFL seasons- no, I don't have the time or inclination for something like that. I may replay the 1963 American Football League season and/or the 1964 NFL season at some point, but my main interest is college football. Once I finish week 7 of the 1948 NFL season, I'll switch over and play some games in my 1964 college league. I'm also working on the uniforms and field art for 1935 Southeastern Conference replay.

I hope the Cards win this time around.  They should've won the NFL championship in both in '47 and '48 under Jimmy Conzellman IMO! Go South-siders!
