I think I already answered that with my alternative to death by flamethrower... Any regiment of foot in the early 18th century will do, though I'm a bit partial to the 1704 Bavarians. I'd probably die in the horrible melee of the Schellenberg, or later at Blenheim, in a series of ultimately inconclusive attacks and counter-attacks. If I do survive, I do get to go to Flanders, and then probably die of disease on garrison duty or during a siege. I'd get to die in a uniform I think is really neat, for a country I feel at least a bit of attachment to (technically, I'm Hessian, and it's an image I often enjoy, but I'm also half-Bavarian), and for a cause, and in circumstances that'll make sure future generations won't have to suffer my great-grandchildren bragging about it on facebook. ;) (That's why Prussians in general, or the Swedes at Poltava, or even the allied foot at the Schellenberg, are out of the question.)
