If i elect to not withdraw the CV and pay the 2000 points, will i there be a requirement for it to be withdrawn the next month? In otherwords do i keep paying 2k in points untill its withdrawn?? . I've never NOT withdrawn them when requested in my other games, but i might have to on this go around. I'd like to know how much pain it will cause me...

You only pay once.

No...the demand for return will not necessarily carry over but the negative PP's will. IIRC the Allies get about 50 pts a day, so if you go negative by 2000 pts you will need about 5 1/2 wks to recover, which means 5 1/2 weeks with no custom task force commanders or replacement CO's or unit command comversions.

If you have a cushion of PP's you may have little impact.

Of course, don't expect to get your annual Christmas invite to the PM's bomb shelter party.

Uncle Winny gets insistant at times. He asked for a CV 2 months in a row. Then he asked for DDs I didn't even have.

Right now I am stuck with Warrant Officer 0/0 running several TFs.

If you turn on "auto-select commander" when you form the TF, you will get the best TF commander available - at NO PP cost - for the TF. I very rarely EVER manually assign TF commanders.

The problem with that is you sometimes wind up with Halsey commanding a flotilla of minesweeps and Spruance in charge of a herd of tankers.

YOu just do auto select when you form an important TF

Winston will ALWAYS ask for 2 DDs (if there is any withdrawal - they are "escorts" for the main ship being withdrawn, even though you might withdraw the CV in San Francisco, one DD in Aden and another in Bombay)...

This will rather quickly deplete your destroyers if you give in to his demands... just say "no"!

I NEVER send back Brit CV's. I am willing to pay the PP price to keep them. They are good at killing merchies or augmenting the US CV's. I will always send back the slowest of the old battlewagons if asked and I almost always never send back the DD's

Unless I'm trying to do the AI and favor, I never send the CVs back (I'm playing stock, I believe some mods are less generous in terms of PP). I always send slow BB back and often (potentially a mistake) send the worst DDs back. IIRC the lack DD historically constained the Royal Navy, in particular kept some BBs at port in the med because of insufficient ASW escort.

I always give back the DDs since I have plenty but even when I am out of Brit DDs (several are reefs) he still asks. The guy is like a bulldog.

I almost always pull them from SF since I was cut off from India for quite a while. They also return there when they come back.
