Was Horton the one who did the Bismark and Battle of New Orleans songs ? At least better than the afternoon delight song.

Yes. Those are Johnny Horton songs.

Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage

And make a Northwest Passage to the sea.

i have a special soft spot for the Afternoon Delight song... actually it was due to a pun on the title that i discovered that a girl i had a crush on also had a crush on me...

Not his birthday, his wedding anniversary.

He's close though. Birthday on the 3rd and anniversary on the 15th. Purposefully done to help absent-minded Martians not forget important dates. Wife was in Africa then so we delayed the celebration.

Thanks to all. It was an excellent dinner!

For those wine lovers here, we had a bottle of pinot noir from this winery. Outstanding!!

Hmm, I really like a good Pinot Noir. I have had a wine from there before. Was there a specific type/year you enjoyed ?

Ahhh, an Oregon Pinot...I love them, but most of my family and extended family won't drink anything that isn't Aussie.

Just finished watching "The Chronicles of Riddick" on TNT in HD.  It's mind candy, but for some reason, I really dig that movie.    It looks great in HD.

There are some great Aussie wines ( hell, I like all sorts of wine ) favorite red is a Rhone though.

I also really like Rhone reds, but they used to be a bargain. Not so much any more.

California Red Zins are probably my current favorites. I can't get them in OZ, but they are easy to find when I am in the US.

Mont Ventoux!!!

Indeed!

Turned out to be anti-climactic. No major changes in position in the G.C. Alberto, Andy and Lance proved to be the strongest among those competing for the lead.

Anyways, kudos to the three who - barring disaster tomorrow - will be standing on the final podium in Paris.

I agree, most Rhones have gotten too pricey. And I also like Zins ( but see, I like everything ). I seem to remember reading that the recent dry conditions in parts of the grape growing regions in OZ have negatively effected a lot of the winerys. Have you heard any such thing ? I have had some Shiraz , and Petite Sirahs I have really liked from Down Under.

I have not heard anything; all I have done for the last 12 months is work and read books about the PTO.

Actually a very good film. Not something you'd expect for a Vin Diesel vehicle.

Agreed. Solid movie. I am hoping to rent it in Blu-ray one of these days.

I don't think there's ever been this many people in this place on a Saturday evening... Wonder what they're looking for?

Yes I am. I'm considering looking at the Threadwar. I really miss playing WitP. By the way, I still haven't told my wife AE is coming out in a couple of days. I'm sure I'll get the "I'll see you next week" line.

I haven't played WitP in a couple of months, the longest I've gone without it since it came out.

Hey Bruce, can you send me the turn and the replay? I managed to accidentally delete them from both of my emails.
