My initial thoughts were to keep my PBEM CHS game with Mynok going while we both get our feet wet in the AE Sea, but I suspect it will quickly become confusing to try to switch back and forth between the two versions.

i doubt it i bet you will be supprised how quick you slip into witp mode.

My thanks to T,Mike and Bobo. I can run the AE game more or less normally in window mode. As I was reading the Readme, there is also a -Dual mode for any one that has dual quad (like me). Strangley enough , that didn't help me. Again , many thanks guys!

That will still happen. I've been watching the historical first turn play out, and then taking a gander over the map. AI POUNDED my ships at Pearl! 6 BB's sunk and 2 more over 80% flotation damage.

I'm running turn two atm. Just had two subs, 1 sub tender and a destroyer hit a minefield at Bataan

I'm also still waiting for the serial...
And when it's finally here, I'll have to wait another 5-10 hours for the download...

Hey buddy!

Are you suggesting that you want to jump right into an AE campaign, or suggesting that you hope I remain confused for a long time?

In one way that is actually a good way of playing it IMO. The real life commanders didn't get a chance to practice the actual events over and over until they worked it out You've played WitP, think of that as training at West Point/Sandhurst/Where-ever the Japs did their training and you're in a more realistic game

I think I'd be willing, Dixie. I agree with you're opinion. It would be frustrating as hell and tons of fun at the same time.

No worries on the second point.

Assuming we do start an AE game at some point, how do you feel about 2 day turns?

It's 11:50 PM, do you know where your favorite WitP:AE player is?

Sitting in my family room, staring at my laptop screen..........doing freaking work!!!

Times like these are when I receive payback for being a tester and enjoying all the "slower times."  High level management promised a solution to a big convention, based on a proof of concept demo, and they have been screaming for the development team to actually make it work, ASAP for a couple of months now.  They are getting ready to take this steaming pile live on the Internet for the public to use, and TODAY they tell us it's finally up and running on a test system for us to START running our tests.

Kind of like when I was in the military.

Damn, my manager is sending me instant messages again.  Back to the salt mines.  As always, my Brothers, thanks for the audience to vent.

Don't feel bad USS America. Playing Allies vs the AI in AE and I lost Enterprise along with Halsey on 12-9-41. Yep the AI has gotten somewhat better

I did get away with POW though.

G'night all

TGW, I ran the historical first turn, and the AI KB pounded me raw at Pearl.  6 BB's sunk, 2 more over 85% floatation dmg, 3 CA's critical, and at least 20-30 other ships sunk.    I think the extra time to work on the AI was worth it.

I've decided that I will be finished with work for the night, now that it's 0039 local time.  I'm up in 5 hours to head into the office early, so no AE joy, and no CHS turn for Mynok tonight.
