Has anyone got the physical copy? Is it worth the extra cash for the hard copy manual?

The hard copy manual is standard with the physical shipment? Shipping and handling is $10.85

Thanks, I can't wait. Well I can for a good manual. Kinko's would probably charge $40 to print it out for me.

I'm definitly got the physical copy for this release, because its a collector's edition with full color manual.

Now its a matter of Matrix will hurry up and ship the boxed copies already.

I got the physical copy mostly for the manual. It is far easier for me to read a book in hand than .pdf files.

Of course, having a physical disk in case I need to reinstall isn't a bad thing either.

On the other hand you can do a keyword search on the pdf file, e.g. Replenish. I only printed out the appendix tables at the end. Having both the searchable pdf and hardcopy is the best of course.

I personally like hard copies so I can show off the beautiful DVD cases Matrix has for their game(Matrix has better box art than most mainstream games at times) and I dont want to lose an $80 game just because my hard drive cracked...

In this case though, even the search function doesn't make up for the fact that I have to alt-tab over (with an in hand manual I don't), and that it is easier for me to read the in hand manual the adobe font is somewhat atrocious.

I was mucking around FedEx Office online printing trying to figure out some costs for printing. There is a problem in that the PDF pages in the manual are 4"x7", and online printing doesn't let you print two pages of the manual on one page of paper. That would be the way to go, because the size doesn't change, you just use the whole page.

To print one page per side of paper (that is, 166 sheets, double-siding print), in color, is $166. That's a volume-discounted price (from $199).

B&W is the way to go if you want a printout, but you have the same issue: one page of manual per page. Double-sided printing, with 3-hole punch, is $36.00

If you want a hard copy, yes, it's worth it to get a hard copy from Matrix. (I didn't check other, possibly cheaper options.)

The full color printed manual is well worth the extra $10 IMHO and you also get a nice box for your CD.

I just got back from Staples to pick up my manual. I would've loved a color manual, but they wanted $162. I got a full size, double-sided, ring-bound with clear cover and solid black back cover for $19.59 (+tax). Another reason I went for the AE download was so I could print a full-size manual. My eyes are getting old. (sorry for the image size, can't seem to get'em to shrink)

p.s. I had them print the WITP-Manual-[LIGHT].pdf version, not the EBOOK version...

Black and white though defeats the purpose of it being a collectors edition IMO.Full color manual is the main reason it is a collector's edition.

When I get my box copy though, I'm installing it then putting the DVD case in a steel vault....maybe taking it out once in a while to read the manual.....

That's a nice idea, my eyes are going, too. And for those who are colorblind, you won't notice the lack of color!

no, its double-sided. Its a smaller manual though, probably 6x9-ish? Someone who has one can say for sure. a smaller manual usually means smaller text.

Color blind doesnt nessecarily mean you see in black and white.....for most it people color blind means they can't see red or green or both...

so if you print it out yourself it's 166 pages, double sided and if you buy it from Matrix it's 330 pages, double sided?

(bascially I'm trying to figure out if it's worth printing myself or buying the hard copy)

I doubt the Matrix one is single-sided, Erik can confirm or deny. It's color, it's probably slick, too. It's 4x7, right Erik?

I was just talking about the printing of the PDF (electronic file) you get with the game.

you print the PDF manual single-sided, you end up with 330 pages

you print the PDF manual double-sided, you end up with 165 pages...

the color 330 page manual from Matrix is double-sided, its just a smaller size (i.e., not 8.5x11)

Hmm, I go to Staples online, and they want $32. I'm scaling to fit, double-sided, 20-lb recycled paper, coil binding, solid back and clear cover. What am I doing wrong?

If I go with Letter Standard White (not the recycled), I get the $20 price. ?!?!

I just picked up mine from Staples, same price as you, uncc. I asked the lady at counter why the normal paper was cheaper, and she figured it was the 5-cent special going on. The 8.5x11 pages are really easy on these tired old eyes.
