I'm in Scenario 1, Non-historical 1st turn, playing as Jap, so 'magic move' is the name of the game. If I look at the Jap Carrier Strike force located at Etorofu preparing to dash across the Pacific, I note that air squads are prepped to strike at Pearl Harbor. However, it appears that the units targeting the airfields are using TORPEDOES to do so. 1. Is the toggle "Using TORPEDOES"/"Using BOMBS" irrelevant when you assign a/c to attack anything non-naval, i.e. if I attack airfields, land target, even if I by accident select TORPEDOES, the program will override that selection? Wouldn't it be logical to grey the toggle option out if it becomes irrelevant in that case? 2. I must assume that this has been tested extensively, so my hunch is that is does not hurt the Japanese in turn 1 to drop TORPEDOES on airfields. But let's assume I'm a stickler for detail and would want to switch to BOMBS, just because. Will that void my 'magic move' because I made a change to the set-up? Thx.
