ORIGINAL: Mike Solli Yeah, that is weird, Mike. What did you do there? There was a huge Naval Aviation Technical Training Command there, at what had become a rather small Naval Air Station. For many, many years, all enlisted aviation maintenance schools were there for USN and USMC. My last year on active duty, over Christmas of 1996, the entire command was relocated to NAS Pensacola as part of BRAC. I spent my last 4.5 years enlisted as an instruction at the avionics "A" school there. I have to say that as much as I enjoyed Tennessee, the base and living near the beach in P'cola was much nicer. Not to mention the free airshow every Tuesday at lunch, when the Blue Angels did their weekly practice. Millington is not Tennessee...well it is...but its "west" Tennessee...whereas "east" Tennessee is much nicer...IMHO. Mom's Husband MkII was a chief at Millington...she has since started on Husband MkIII. Tithe by the way..
