After thinking it through I have decided not to open source PureSim. But I have decided to open up the project to multiple trusted developers and graphic designers! If you are a skilled VB6 developer or a talented designer please drop me an email shaun@puresim.com

Announcing the first addition to the team - Steve Lucey!

Steve (known in these parts as CrashDavis) has always been the most prolific add-in developer for the game so I have invited him on board to help with fixing bugs, adding new features etc. It will likely be a while before he really hits his stride as the code base is massive and it will take some time to get familiar with it. That said he has lots of great ideas and I look forward to working with him.

So, if you are a developer or designer that has always dreamed of working on a commercially released property now is your chance. I am especially looking for folks to help update the graphics and UI! Graphics/UI designers will need to be skilled in HTML and CSS as this is how all of PureSim's user interface is built.

Now VB6 is a little long in the tooth, so of course talented VB6 programmers are hard to find these days, thus I am always interested there too.

Serious inquiries only please

Shaun

Hey Shaun.

I had drifted away from the game over the past number of months. But you have brought me back, and renewed my enthusiasm about the game. I am excited by what you are doing here.

I do plan to be more active now that the game is back in development. Thanks for giving me something to take my mind of my current unemployment.

Steve

Cheers to both of you! However, Steve, you may consider changing your forum name, as "Crash" may not be the best choice for a programmer. (I'm kidding).

Congrats, Crash! I know you will make a world of difference and in no time Shaun will wonder why he never thought of asking for help before.

I can give you one reason I didn't ask for help before... In the past I was charging for the game, so I didn't want to split the money with anyone :)

Just like Theo Epstein and John Henry. Tight-fisted and unwilling to part with prospects for a proven veteran.

LOL. That reminds me, my next code project, I like to call the "No-Dodger-Trade-Clause-For-Joe-Dimaggio". I'm pretty sure I ran this by Shaun and I couldda swore he said "Ok".

Uh-oh, I'm in trouble. I've already noticed that the Red Sox will NOT part with Ted Williams, no matter what my offer is. Can't help it, guys, but in this game, I bleed "Dodger Blue".

Hi -

I have both Delphi 7 and Borland Developer Studio 2006. I tend to work most in Delphi 7 because I prefer the IDE to the revamped IDE in BDS 2006.

Familiar with working with ComObj and imported library files in a delphi DLL?

Hi --

What do you mean by library files? Component libraries (or packages) or creating wrappers around existing EXEs or DLLs to access functionality contain within those? (I have done both).

I have done some basic ComObj stuff to "control" other apps - mostly QuickBooks but a little bit with Word & Excel.
