Hello,

When I send ships to Cape Town from Columbo it shows a distance exactly double what the hex distance should be when both the destination and home ports are set to Cape Town. Ships sent from off-map to on-map show the correct distances. The same has held true for any other off-map port I checked.

If instead, I set the destination to an empty on-map hex and keep the home port as Cape Town, the distance shows correct for the complete trip. It also works fine if I send them to Diego Garcia as the destination with Cape Town the home port. The distance reported is then 109.

At first I thought it was a glitch that would work itself out once the TFs were underway but I checked some TF a few days later and the distance was still twice what it should be. I didn't know if things would sync properly once the TF went off-map but I don't want to chance it should it actually take twice as long to make the trip.

So this happens every time I set a TF to home port "Cape Town" and then click the "Return to Cape Town" button. The actual distance is multiplied by two. Then when I set the destination to anywhere else along the route, the distance changes and is correct.

Thank you.

OK. Save attached.

Kindly find that there are two TF @ Columbo. The one heading to Diego Garcia then Cape Town shows a distance over 80 hexes shorter than the TF that has Cape Town as both destinations (even when ordered to take the most direct route). 109 hexes compared to 193 hexes. Apparently the doubling I noticed the first time I stumbled on this was just a coincidence - it was near Columbo not at the port.

BTW, this is 100% reproduceable for me on two different computers. One with Win 7 and the other with XP. Still get the same result even when starting a brand new game.

Thanks. Checked it out and there is indeed an error here. One of the various off map calculations is double calculating the off map portion of the trip under the "return to home port" process. The off map process is a bit complex...
