I vote to put the game on hold rather than have a single player controlling two powers.

Sirs,
I have HW problems with my notebook, which is on repair now. I asked Prussian Kaiser to play my part ... I can be online sometimes for consultation, but cannot play. Sorry for problems ...

An act of God is nothing to apologize for, unless, of course, you brought it upon yourself.:)

My favorite LCD is giving me trouble now. It won't stop me from playing, but it did delay a turn for a few hours. I will never buy another Gateway product again.

Avoid Dells too. I vote to wait for Matto. I really hope this game won't go down the drain, but better to wait (assuming Matto is still keen to continue) so that everyone can continue with their starting positions.

Good luck getting the computer fixed Matto!

Same vote from me, I have no problem waiting for somebody when I know what's going on. Like I said you could go on a 10-day nose picking spree and don't want to get your keyboard messy... that's fine with me, game will still be here.

I don't mind a halt for a known reason.

Hi, as much as I don't mind doing Matto's turn for him, I am in agreement with this. I would really rather not know what the state of the Austrian situation is with the clarity I'd gain from doing his turn. It would take a strong will not to colour my turn as the Prussians with such information.

I vote to wait

Err... I guess this is another ideological disagreement Bill. In the event of a 10 day nose picking holiday I vote we go to the reserve for a new player.

A player having computer issues I can make an exception for, and in that case I vote we wait.

So are we gonna have a substantial delay until the next turn? Just wanted to clarify for certain if we are waiting starting now or at some point in the near future or not waiting or what?

Mus, I guess we could take a vote at that point... I've never been one to pass judgements and am very tolerant of others.

Anthropoid, looks that way. I will send everyone an email to let know. Actually, when I send the next turn that will be where we pick it up again.

As a side note what does everyone think about a house rule about insurrections like was suggested in the New PBEM Game? Sounds like a good ides to me.

I would be all for it.

Fair warning, I plan on building numerous diplomats in this game as Great Britain if we dont ratify a house rule of this kind.

IME they are absurdly overpowered and I have the means in textiles and the money to make the maximum amount.

Sorry about the delay.
Was asked to do an extra shift on sunday. Walked in my door just now, some 68hrs and 1800km later.
Will reply later today but need a shower and some hrs in bed first.

Sorry.

Excellent-not that big of a deal when everyone is informed.

So, turn 25 returned.

We officially DID NOT adopt a no insurrection house rule for this game correct?

That is my understanding. Someone voted no-don't recall who. Insurrections are in.

What is going on in southern France? There seems to be a Spanish Army in France and a French army in a Spanish holding in Italy. Perhaps this is fog of war? It makes one assume there is some kind of secret treaty between those two nations.

Friendly, peaceful France does NOT have any army in Italy. We do however have one in Piedmont after the Piedmonteese claimed that THEY make the world smelliest cheese. Such nonsense cannot be tolerated. French cheese is far smellier!

Think thats just a display issue with a Spanish diplomat or general being "on top" of the French Army and vice versa.

The Spanish are the newly acquired Piedmontese army... how long they stick around or are banished from the earth remains to be seen.

Yeah sorry, I didn't post the results, but I think everyone was cc'd. Insurrections remain legal in game. I thought it best to make it a unanimous concensus to pass since we didn't agree to it at the start. Next game.

Who are you waiting on PM for and why does the whole game have to hold up for days because of it?

4-5 days waiting for a PM is a bit excessive. If you don't get a response in that amount of time on some diplomatic issue please make your move as best you can and try again for next turn.

24 hour turn around ideal, 48 hour MAX PLEASE guys.

Translation: Holy sh!t AE is awesome and I am addicted.

Kidding aside, would be good to get this going again.

We should get a game of AE going sometime Terje, maybe after a patch or so?
