This is a question for the developer or a beta tester probably. Please no WAGs and speculation. The manual states the "attacker" has a 66% chance of getting the weather-gage versus the "defender" having a 33% chance. How does the game determine who is the attacker and who is the defender? Some scenarios, hopefully ericbabe or somebody from WCS can answer these questions: 1. Force A performs a port raid on Force B. Force A is the attacker correct? 2. Force A is blockading Force B. Force B sails out of the port in an effort to break the blockade. Who is the "attacker" in this situation? I would think intuitively the advantage lies with the blockading force, Force A, but I could be wrong. 3. Force A is in a seazone blockading a port or some other activity. Force B sails into the same zone in an effort to lift the blockade and a battle occurs. Who is the attacker and who is the defender here? I would think here it would be Force B. 4. Force A intercepts Force B. Who is the attacker here? 5. Force A is on seek battle, while Force B is on avoid battle. Is Force A always going to be the attacker in that situation, since they are the ones seeking battle while B is avoiding? I am asking these questions because Weather-Gage is very important in PBEM (instant) naval combat, and it is very difficult to tell who is going to be considered the attacker/defender in any given situation. The manual doesn't discuss this in enough detail, IMO. Thanks!
