The outcome clearly shows you must have some escort for your AKs to avoid such a disaster like this one. The responsible for this tragedy, IMO should commit seppuku ASAP

This battle is exactly what Doorman was trying to do; intercept the invasion fleet with his light forces. In your "game", Doorman had a second chance and pulled it off. AE isn't really a game; it is a historic simulation.
