As always, take it as a feature. Since we know that ammunition on the eastern front was always a problem - except maybe for some stockpiling done prior to greater operations - also Oberst Vebber has to deal with this problem. BTW - and mostly for this reason-, I don't think that Stug's were used to fire indiscriminately on everything that was moving, but were used when really needed. So, in the game, I like to use them this way: as a mobile reserve that can save your day. Obviously, sooner or later, the ammo will run out; and then you can retreat your Stug's, reammo them if you have ammo carriers, use them to deceive your enemy, or retreat them to give the crews a rest.
