Thanks for sharing. Yes, it is a very good review and some of the few criticisms mentioned are actually unfounded since the reviewer did not understand the game correctly:

I suppose he's been confused by the fact that some ships are added to the pool accordingly to historical dates, via events

Remember that via events are only added those ships which has been ordered before beginning of the specific campaign

I know but since it's not mentioned in the game manual (correct me if I'm wrong) I think some can be fooled here.
Even though still I don't understand how he could actually miss that Ships can be ordered via the Purchase menu ?
