The Japanese captured Rabual on 15 Dec 41. Every turn since then I've been checking to see if MS Betty has set up shop. It's now the 19th and she hasn't so far. I just noticed that mouseover the base shows airfield damage 6.

Is this the result of demolitions before capture?

Does all this damage have to be fixed before the base can become operational?

I doubt a damage of six would shut down operations. It's more likely an issue of lack of Betties available to be stationed there, as well as a lack of support troops for them. Setting up a Betty base with torpedo supply is a lot more difficult in AE, as it should be.

They grabbed Rabual so quickly that I expected that they would set up shop right away. As for my guys, the bulk of the getaways are passing Horn island now, so it looks like I'm home free.

If you are playing the AI, it probably wont have Bettys there for a while. I have a test game going (me allies v Jap AI) and Dec 25 1941 I have seen Sallys flying out of there, but no Bettys (or Nettys as they are called on the devs board - Nell/Betty).
