Austria is building an empire on which the sun won't set. They're rivaling the Empire in the reign of Charles V in the 1520s!

France will have her turn in tonight (within 6 hours of this posting).

Yeah, about that. Apparently even if your guys are set on "Starve the city" if the walls are already breached they will still storm the breach.

Didn't mean to take Krakow so quickly, was going to let Prussia and Sweden grab a few more provinces the old fashioned way.

As Monte say's we are missing Prussia. I mailed him two day ago.

As far are changing ones mind and mailing an adjusted turn, all are welcome. Ill take the latest files you mailed and combine from that, so dont worry.

1) I hope he is okay.
2) I hope we do not need to find another player (as in, I hope he is still enjoying the game and finds himself able to play!)

If he doesn't respond soon (by tonight) I think its time to go to the reserve.

If you are too busy to get your turn in within 48 hours on a consistent basis best of luck in your endeavors, but I think we need a replacement in those cases. No offense, nothing personal, I just want to get on with the game at a reasonable pace

This is now a 3 day turn. 48 hour MAXIMUM should be an easy goal to achieve which is why we agreed on it at the beginning of the game. Thats two full days to take a 5 minute turn and send an email.

Hello,

turn 21 sent in. I do apologize again. The weekend was too sunny and bright for my woman to allow me to go near the computer without making her really unhappy. Again I do apologize I should have sent the turn in immediatelly as I got it, but I was working at the time.

Again I apologize. I am planning to respond to all diplomatic queries and mails today in the afternoon right after work.

LOL. No problem Timurlain. I have been there. I know exactly how it goes.

Just glad to know 1) that you are okay, and 2) that your family is okay, and 3) that you still want to play.

HiHi

Yer ditto B2 on this Tom + travelling between 2 countries with work commitments and with a brand new Baby in the house I find it surprising that you ain't fallen out altogether or been even slower with returns, so keep up the good work.

One thing you might try re your Lady (I’ve used it with some success in similarish situations), is pique her curiosity, the conversation goes something like this

You: “Hellfire I’m stuck!!”

Lady of the House: “What’s up Luv?”

You: “Oh it’s this problem I have to sort out it’s an absolute bugger ... ... Hey! tell you what, what would you do in this situation? (working on the Women”ALWAYS“ Know Best syndrome)

Give a simplified version of something that really does need sorting, When she comes up with an answer (they always do, coz they Always know best)

You; “Mmmm, do you know (well of course she does, women Always know best) ‘Gorgeous’ that just might work” Quick kiss and pat on Bum for her, you then apply her suggestion irrespective.

Now, if it works, lavish her with praise and start asking for more help to really pull her in.

If it fails, ask her what you did wrong and ask for more help, she should be so pissed off that someone at the other end (a mere male of course ) didn’t see the universe from her perspective that her dander should be well and truly up and she will give you lots of support in the game just to show that unreasonable Sod at the other end just who is really Boss.

Of course the danger in all this is that she gets really really into the game and just takes over completely!!!

All the Best
Peter

Kingmaker,

You were right. You ARE better at subtle diplomacy than I am.

HI Guys,
Having been married a number of years, unless your significant other has a secret desire to play your games, Kingmaker's idea will probably work for about 5 miniutes. Thats about the length of time she can show interest, before it goes back to, alright, lets get going!
More realistically, it would be better to do the turn as soon as he gets it (which shouldn't take more than 15-30 minutes). Then when she has left to go shopping, or to do errands, or gone out to see the girls, that is the time to get back on line and do your diplomacy, or if necessary make an adjustment to the turn!
