I have been involved in writing software for applications and websites for 10 years including design, testing, bug fixing, and document writing - no games experience but medium to large application software with millions of records. Hi, Here I am too

We are not accepting any more applicants at this time (August 5, 2009).
--- I thank all of you who asked to be beta testers. We had twice as many applicants as there are slots to be filled.
--- I will be sending Personal Messages (PMs) via this forum to the applicants we have chosen (13). If some of them have changed their minds, then I will augment the group until I get 13 who say yes.
Once I have 13 confirmed acceptances, I'll post the list of the people we accepted in this thread.
1. Any previous experience in testing software. I have helped test the following software titles; Gary Grisby's world at war, Eve online, Earth and Beyond, and a few bulletin board applications back in the old modem days.
2. Your experience of cardboard World in Flames (remember we need equal numbers of Newbies and Grognards on the team) a. Newbie - Never played WiF but it looks great b. Recruit - Playing WiF occasionally (or played a lot a long time ago) c. Average - Currently playing WiF on a regular basis d. Grognard - Rules guru
Used to be a d, we had a constant game running all the way from version 3 until the 'final' edition.. over 10 years.. but haven't played now for the last 4 so could be downgraded to a b.
3. Your experience with CWIF (Australian Design Group's ealrier version of a computerized World in Flames. a. None b. Some c. A lot
Downloaded it, messed around with it a bit, but stopped once I heard Matrix was doing it up.. that was some time ago tho.
4. Your PC specification. (just the basics): a. CPU speed - 3.06Ghz dual core b. RAM - 4GB c. Operating system - Windows XP (running either native or in parallels) d. Maximum screen resolution for your monitor (1900x1200) I'm running on an imac 24" system with a Geforce 8800 vid card. I typically play my PC games in either a dual booted Windows XP system, or running via parallels (a virtual emulator)

The link should be working correctly now. I also found 2 more were accepted in October 2006.
That brings the total up to 75 accepted for the beta test team since 2005.
I wouldn’t be surprised that attrition may have taken its toll in four years of testing.
There have been people accepted who never filled out their Non-Disclosure Agreements with Matrix Games. Or who never got past downloading the game and executing it. There are others who participated for a month or so, then disappeared. Many beta testers have found the real world intruding on their time available to beta test.
This is an all-volunteer group so I don't lose any sleep over any of this.
Probably not shown on the list are some people who have been helping me on the side and who have priviledges comparable to beta testers (e.g., Peter).
In general, I have tried to keep the number of active beta testers between 30 and 40.
i would like to apply as beta tester. I can dedicate at least 10-12 hours per week to test the software
1. I'm actually beta tester for software for computer diving with Uwatec and Sunto (normal algorithm and Trimix computers)
2. Currently playing WiF on a regular basis (every Friday) for more than 10 years
3. Your experience with CWIF (Australian Design Group's ealrier version of a computerized World in Flames. Some with the 1st beta testing when the project was still under Australian Design Group (i was also signing a No-Disclosure Agreement sending even a coppy of my ID and passport to Australia)
4. Your PC specification. (just the basics): a. CPU speed 2.1 GHz b. RAM 4 Gb DDR2 c. Operating system Windows XP SP3 d. Maximum screen resolution for your monitor 1366 x 768 ATI RADEON
